when Miley first became Hannah

Written by Chay on Monday, 25 of February , 2008 at 7:41 am

There might come a time when Miley Cyrus will want us to forget that she is Hannah Montana. Maybe even Disney would too. But neither could deny the fact that we won’t have known Miley if it wasn’t for Hannah Montana. Ok, maybe we would - but probably not in the same capacity as we do now.

Would we have known Hannah without Miley Cyrus? I guess we will never know the answer to that one. But if you’re wondering when Hannah Montana started to change the life of Billy Ray Cyrus’ daughter, just watch this video

Hannah is not going away…

Written by crystal on Tuesday, 5 of February , 2008 at 8:46 am

not for awhile anyway…

There was a rumor a week ago about Hannah Montana being cancelled by the Disney Channel - complete with quotes from both Miley Cyrus and a Disney spokeperson (with a name no less!).

Now, I’m really not quite sure where the rumor started; but I sure did raised my eyebrow when I heard it. I mean, why would Disney cancel the core of one of their most profitable franchises? I can understand that maybe Miley will want to start to step away from the persona - that help her got to her current place in pop culture… but this soon?

Well, leave it to Tigerbeat to get to the root of the matter. They called a real Disney executive and got a big “NO”. So no truth to the cancellation - (not until they find another hit in their roster anyway)… darn I’m feeling so snarky today

The bottom line - Miley is not hanging up her blonde wig and sequined outfits any time soon. And if the fact that the 3D Concert Movie was #1 at the boxoffice on it’s opening weekend is any indication - this whole thing is still in it’s infancy…

next up - Hannah Montana the Movie.

Watching Miley

Written by Chay on Tuesday, 29 of January , 2008 at 10:00 am

If you are a regular visitor, you know we don’t just blog because we got new pics or videos of our VABN stars. We blog because we want to share the VABN take on those latest pics and video. When it comes to Miley (or Hannah Montana) however, we usually don’t have much to say (I can’t really explain why).

It’s not because we don’t love her; we do (believe it or not). In fact, I probably have seen every single episode of the first season at least 5 times. Granted most of the time, it’s because it’s what my nieces wanted to watch. But no one forced me to actually sit down and watch it - I did because it’s actually enjoyable. But like I said, I didn’t really have much to say about Miley, Emily, Billy Ray, Jackson, or Mitchell (or Hannah).

Weird, huh? I mean sold-out concerts and ticket controversies and I don’t have anything much to say, besides the occasional “what are you wearing” post?

Well, I actually am enjoying just being a spectator in this phenomenon called Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus. I’m enjoying it so much, I might just take myself to a movie theater this weekend and watch “The Best of Both Worlds 3D Concert Movie”. I mean, just look at this!

But am I brave enough to fight 8-yr olds (and their parents) to get tickets? Are there even tickets left? Maybe I’ll wait until it gets to DVD in say, 2 months?

Btw - hope you are feeling better Miley! I’m still on the fence about you legally changing your name though; I like the name “Destiny”.

Kenny the Great

Written by Chay on Monday, 31 of December , 2007 at 1:22 am

I wonder if Kenny Ortega has a special title within the Disney organization. We all know him as the man behind the razzle and dazzle of the HSM movies. He is also behind the second Cheetah Girls movie and the soon to be filmed Cheetah Girls 3. So it’s not a surprise that Disney turned to Kenny to bring in some of his magic to the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus’s Best of Both Worlds concert - when it becomes a 3-D movie.

See Kenny show some moves in this behind-the-scenes from Disney’s Moviesurfers (oh yeah, you get to see Miley, Nick, Joe and Kevin too :P )

Seriously, could I get Kenny to adopt me? Please?

Who’s your Top Twenty?

Written by Jill-Renay on Wednesday, 26 of December , 2007 at 6:48 pm

AOL put out their list of the Top Twenty ‘Tween Stars. So, who’s on there that we should be proud of? Nearly, all of them…

20. Bindi Irwin
19. Raven
18. Selena Gomez
17. Brenda Song
16. Keke Palmer
15. Sabrina Byran

14. The Jonas Brothers
13. Emma Roberts
12. Ashley Tisdale
11. Corbin Bleu
10. Miranda Cosgrove
9. Drake Bell
8. Dylan Sprouse
7. Cole Sprouse

6. Jamie Lynn Spears
5. Alex Wolff
4. Nat Wolff
3. Vanessa Hudgens
2. Zac Efron
1. Miley Cyrus

I was expecting Miley, and Zac, and Vanessa, Corbin and Ashley. And why aren’t the twins or Alex & Nat Wolff considered one spot if the Jonas Brothers are? But, I love that Selena and Sabrina made the list but you want to know how much more estatic I am about #17 on this list? I LOVE BRENDA! I could be, just a little biased though. :D

So, what do you think? Are the spots are stars in the spots you would put them in? Or would you rearrange it?

Lindsay loves Hannah Montana!

Written by Jill-Renay on Saturday, 15 of December , 2007 at 2:39 pm

How far would you go to win Hannah Montana tickets? How far? If you knew someone famous, you could’ve had them too. And that’s just what one of Lindsay Lohan’s friends did. Las Vegas’ Radio Station Mix 94.1 Mark & Mercedes show were offering up Hannah Montana tickets for the extended tour, set to land in Sin City January 18 & 19th, 2008, if you could get the most famous person to call in to the station.

I guess Million Dollar Man Lee Majors just wasn’t famous enough. Former Disney girl herself, Lindsay Lohan called into the station and won those tickets for her friend. And even more? She stayed on the line for a 1/2 hour longer just to answer questions from fans and talk with the hosts of the show. Talk about complete turn around.

You can listen to Lindsay’s broadcast HERE, just click on the podcast to the right.

Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana Tour just recently extended her tour into the next year, ending just before the show of the same name’s production picks back up. Below is the official list of the extra dates.

Jan. 11, Detroit

Jan. 13, Milwaukee

Jan. 14, Chicago

Jan. 15, St. Louis

Jan. 18-19, Las Vegas

Jan. 22, Glendale, Ariz.

Jan. 24, Austin, Texas

Jan. 25, Lafayette, La.

Jan. 26, New Orleans

Jan. 28-29, Orlando

Jan. 30, Jacksonville, Fla.

Jan. 31, Miami

How much is too much?

Written by Jill-Renay on Friday, 9 of November , 2007 at 3:45 am

How much is too much? The most I would spend on a ticket, alone, would be $150 tops. How about you? Would you push the limit and splurge and get the front row seats for $300 with includes the meet&greet passes, free souveiner and free drinks? Or do you want to spend a little less and for the balcony seats, that although not close, but not too far, are closer to the exit so you can bolt our of the venue at lightning speed and beat everyone out of the parking lot?

I again, would stick with the $150, tops. But, if in fact you’re one of those die-hard fans who have to go to a concert, why not go all out? How’s $24,000 for you?
Yep, a $24,000 ticket for Hannah Montana was found on StubHub, a popular and most the times better than ticketmaster online ticket purchaser for concerts and venues around the nation. Of course, it hasn’t been bought yet…and even if it had, who in their right mind would do so?

So how much is too much for you? I get that this is Disney’s Princess. Ashley Tisdale slid out of that seat a few months ago and was replaced with doppleganger Miley Cyrus. I also get that this is Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, Billy Ray Cyrus’ daughter and that this is also the only Disney show right now to get over 2 million viewers per episode….but $24,000? And we don’t even know if that’s front row or even for 2 tickets!

I’d rather spend my money on that place Vanessa was looking at today. That kitchen is actually worth that 24k.

meet the Pop Princess

Written by Chay on Saturday, 6 of October , 2007 at 12:03 pm

Miley CyrusIf you’re older than 16 but too young to be a parent, you’ve probably never heard of her.

You probably never heard any of her songs played in any of the Top 40 radio stations either.

And you probably not sure if her name is Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana.

But for so many she is the Pop Princess. You want some validation of that title?

Will a sold out arena tour enough for you? How about multi-platinum albums that stayed on the Top 10 of the charts for weeks? How about her likeness on shirts, notebooks and greeting cards among other things?

Not convince yet? How about tickets to said arena tour selling up to 10 times more on Ebay and parents on an uproar because they couldn’t score tickets for their young ones?

And she’s reaching this status even before she can get a driver’s license.

Unless we starts seeing her in the latest hot night spots or hanging out with the “wrong” crowd, we will be seeing Miley Cyrus on top for awhile.

Update: Miley will be on the Ellen this coming Thurday, Oct. 11th. Please check your local listing for time and channel.

59th Annual Creative Arts Emmys - What no HSM?

Written by Jill-Renay on Saturday, 1 of September , 2007 at 4:17 am

You read right. The 59th Annual Primetime & Creative Arts Emmy Nominations were announced officially today - and yes, no HSM - not one sight of the writers, producers, cast (as a whole) or directors were nominated. Not even for choreography! Blasphemy!

But….yep, there’s a couple of buts… Disney was recognized. In several areas, in fact. And the most surprising of them all - RETURN TO HALLOWEENTOWN? Say What? You read right - R2HT was nominated for an Emmy! Not that it wasn’t an entertaining show - I mean, come on Sara Paxton - pretty - and Lucas Grabeel - charming - as the leads - are begging to turn some heads, but, for an nod in Outstanding Art Direction? Well….maybe. The CGX were kind of cool.

There were also some others nominated as well - The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, That’s So Raven & Hannah Montana were all recognized for Outstanding Children’s Programs.

But the question remains - will any of them take home a golden trophy? Eh…considering who and what they’re up against - TSL and Hannah Montana have the most likelihoods of the prize.

so Vanashbrenique!
