Vanessa’s “Twilight” zone
The rumor about Vanessa “being interested/auditioned” for “Twilight’s” New Moon is getting out of hand.
A rumor that started at some foreign magazine, possibly written as “wish-list” of sort and its true meaning got lost in translation, has become into something that would trigger a publication such as People Magazine to report on it.
It has gotten so bad, and gained so much legs, that any news report on it is now reporting that Ashley Greene has “confirmed” Vanessa auditioned for the part of Leah Clearwater. Really? I saw the interview and she clearly didn’t confirm anything but the fact that she has no idea of the casting/audition. It surely didn’t warrant over 100 alerts for one day, on this “news”.
Granted VABN probably helped fueled the fire with an entry that Jill wrote over a month ago…but it was clearly stated it was just a rumor. I mean, for Entertainment Tonight (“the most watch entertainment show in the world”) to say that this rumor “is true according to” their “sources” a day after JustJared said that Vanessa’s rep cleared the rumor and the same day Entertainment Weekly did the same thing – is just plain ridiculous…
Yeah, Vanessa is in “Twilight” alright – Twilight zone of rumors.
And don’t get me started on those even more ridiculous comments of “I will die if she plays Leah” or “oh she’ll destroy the story for me”…I think if you already love the story, no actress playing a minor part will mangle the story for you; and I sure haven’t heared of anyone who died because Pattinson was cast as Edward, even after over 70k signed an online petition to not have him play their beloved vampire.
In any case, quite a number of Vanessa Hudgens fans are happy this rumor is just that – a rumor. Read Chika’s view on this matter at Team Hudgens.

I think the networks and the studio and everyone are dealing in simantics here.
You can be “up for a role” having never “auditioned” for it. So your rep could say you didn’t audition and be telling the truth just not all of it. Vanessa didn’t audition for Bandslam it was offered to her and MAOW according to Zac was just offered to him.
I really think we are going to have to wait and see. Anyway it keeps our girl’s name before the press and the industry.
Actually, correct me if I’m wrong but Vanessa did audition for it. There were pictures that proved it.

The new movie is a combination of “New Moon” and “Eclipse” so if thee pages havn’t been written just weeks before the movie starts to shoot – they better get to it or maybe they have written around Leah which would be a problem since she figures prominently in the last book and there for the last movie..
I’m sure you all know that when you get closer to a shooting date and your script isn’t done that’s not too good. LOL

Not everyone who disagrees with you or expands on another possibility is challenging you. I was merely noticing how carefully some new agencies and reps can wording their reports. There is no need to be snotty with the “technical” remark I wasn’t being “technical” I was just offering another possibility.
If you don’t want anyone on the board to disagree with you such say so and we can all just read and say nothing.

Oh thanks for that quote. That writer sounds rude though, oh well she is who they should have considered firing instead. I mean it’s hard to take something as bad (only in my opinion) as twilight and make it be even worse onscreen.
I don’t think there’s that much more that can be said about this whole thing. Even the Brenda part of the rumor has been resolved. Plus having just read through a recent post, some will just persistently and consistently believe what they want to regardless of like everything.
