Jonas Brothers: Grammy nominees

Wednesday, 03 Dec 2008

CONGRATULATIONS to Kevin, Joe and Nick (aka the Jonas Brothers) for their Grammy Awards nomination!

The brothers from New Jersey are up against 2 Brits (Duffy and Adele); a young songwriter – Jazmine Sullivan; and newly minted country act, Lady Antebellum for one of the big prizes – Best New Artist (incidentally, former JB girl Taylor Swift was a nominee in the same category last year).

Visit the Grammy site for a complete list of nominees for the 51st Grammy Awards. Winners will be announced on February 8, 2009 LIVE on CBS at 8pm ET.

Recordings considered for the nominations are those that were released between October 1, 2007 and September 30, 2008

  1. i hope they win (: i really like their music.

    go jonas brothers!

    oh and also, first comment!

  2. great news for these guys! i have to admit, when my daughter first started being infatuated with the jonas bros and their music, i didn’t really pay them much mind. i’m a confessed music “snob” and i immediately blew them off without really giving them a fair chance. when i downloaded their latest cd from itunes, i decided to give it a listen while i was doing some work. admittedly, i was extremely impressed. i’m no rolling stone critic or expert, but it takes a bit to impress me. so, there you go, from a mother of a jonas brother lover, all the best to these guys. i think they deserve the win!

  3. did hsm get nominated?

  4. I hope they win too. damn Joe is soooo cute!!!

  5. I’m so proud of them.

  6. i hope they win!! i love them :D

  7. Ok, no ofense I’m not a fan of them but they’re pretty cute guys but, they’re not Grammy Worthy.

  8. i agree with 7. they’re good, tweens and teens love them, but on the talented scale, i’d say they’re a solid 5 at the most. and most of it is just their appeal to girls. i like them, but i dont think they deserve a grammy, at least not yet anyways.

  9. that’s great for them! capping off a great year for them.

they’ve got some tough competition though.. i’m actually rooting for Adele or Jazmine Sullivan, i fell in love with “I Need You Bad” awhile ago; but props to the JBs for the nod!

  10. 7 and 8, i agree with you on some level; but to be quite honest, there are so many bands that are just overlooked at the grammy’s; they don’t even get nominated let alone win. so, i never look at these awards shows (oscars included – i have shaken my head many a time at some of the oscar nominations and wins over the years) as being the real indication of the “best of the best” out there. i haven’t even heard of the other artists up for nomination in this category, but i could think of countless others that should be.

  11. for instance, radiohead should definitely beat coldplay for album of the year, imo. i am a huge fan of both so i’m not biased either way, but i just happen to think “in rainbows” is a fantastic album and “viva la vida” just wasn’t coldplay’s best. but, i will almost guarantee that coldplay will win because they were more commercially successful. sorry gals, i know that’s off topic a little.

  12. ermm i didnt kno where to post this lol but…. selena gomez on bbc switch the full interview will be on sunday at 7pm(uk time)
