Brenda Song vs. Vanessa Hudgens for a ‘New Moon’
First, for those of us who haven’t read the bestselling “Twilight” series of books or haven’t been attracted to even finding out what the series is about; let us recap and enlighten, shall we?
“Twilight” is about Bella Swan who reluctantly moves to the small town of Forks, WA. There she meets Edward Cullen and his family of very pale “brothers” and “sisters.”
Now in this series of books and in the upcoming sequel to it – “New Moon” (set to start shooting in March 09), there is a new character named Leah. Leah Clearwater is a native american character who is also a werewolf. She is the daughter of Harry and Sue Clearwater and older sister to Seth.
And rumors have been flooding the internet on who is up for this coveted role and two particular names have stood out to us here. Brenda Song and Vanessa Hudgens.
So, let’s have it VABN girls and guys, if you were to cast either of these two girls, who would it be? Why? Let your voices be heard!

I would quite literally murder someone, in addition to myself, if EITHER of these two were to be cast in ANY part of twilight. Not even joking.
I find it interesting that people are objecting to either Brenda or Vanessa playing thise role is because they’re “Disney girls.” Well the only way they are going to stop being “Disney girls” is to play some very unDisney roles. And this role sounds like it could be the ticket.
I also find it interesting that someone said they would pick Brenda for the role because they haven’t seen Vanessa play mean. Well when has Brenda ever played mean? This is a serious question I really don’t know but has she ever shown she can play mean? Please don’t say she does it as London Tipton. (That’s not a bash. its just that I don’t believe anybody would really think London is a “Mean girl” by any means. Even if she is considered that in the universe inhabited by Zac and Cody.)

just like what I was afraid of, not even one person wants either of them in the movie….
one thing that make me laugh is that they’re scared it’s going to be new moon : the musical . LOL.
so just for the future reference, it’s OK to wish but it has to be somewhat realistic… and the blog just have to be careful because those haters posted your blog as the main source…

i don’t get why you are introducing “zac topic” here…when we are talking about her career, not about her personal life…plus, you are saying that like she was only “zac’s girlfriend”…when i think she has shown enough times that she is Vanessa Anne Hudgens, period, a person who is an actress, a singer…and who casually, is in a relationship with a boy called Zac.
plus: stay in high school musical??? are you one of her fans?? by the way you are talking i am guessing not, because if you were one of her fans, you would want to see her doing different things and playing different roles…not being gabriella montez all her life…well, at least, this is what i think…

PLUS: She has more experience outside of Disney and inside Disney. No offence to Baby V, Queen B is more likely to get my vote.
i would love to see Brenda play Leah, because she has the whole Leah look and personality going on while Vanessa has a whole sweatheart thing going on. V’s deperature from Disney may hepl her get this but i think personally for me, Brenda is a very excellend pick for Leah and Twilight, considering she is a Twilight fanatic, and she is obsessed with all of the books and Edward Cullen.
Id hate to see a Disney actor/actress on the Twilight Saga.. but if i had to choose.. even if Vanessa Hudgens looks more Native American.. id choose Brenda!.. always!

Vanessa definatly. No offense, but Brenda looks to asian for the role.
Brenda. Not because I think she’d be better, but because Leah is such a small part that it wouldn’t make that much of a difference anyway. Plus there’s no point in someone like Vanessa latching onto a franchise that already has fans with their already set opinions. Seriously, Twilight fans are so stubborn and evil, and I say this as a Twilight fan myself, so I’ve witnessed first hand their horribleness.
They petitioned to exclude Robert Pattinsion from the movie when they first heard he was playing Edward. Now they’re petitioning to remove Nikki Reed, Taylor Lauther, Kristen Stewart, the screenwriter…pretty much the entire cast and crew actually.
I can only imagine the crap they would put Vanessa through if she signed on. As if she doesn’t get enough of that already. And it has nothing to do with her being a Disney girl…that’s just an excuse. She could be on the same caliber as Angelina Jolie, and she STILL wouldn’t be good enough for Twilight. Twilight fans are ridiculously hard to please. No way, no how, no Twilight!

Vanessa isnt right for it. Besides Brenda can play a complex character, and Queen B has way more experience than Baby V. Sorry, and note. I think that Brenda is the main face of way too much Disney franchises so i dont know about Summit franchsies. Brenda doesnt look that Asian, and she has Native roots. So Brenda.
Its a big role, Brenda is perfect for it. Vanessa is established as the musical girl while Brenda has played way more characters and has way more talent, no offence. Hail Queen B!
