   Are you kidding me? Vaness should be in this movie; it’s her dream role! God, I feel betrayed…
   Don’t get me wrong, I adore Brenda, but.. seriously? You take her and not Van? I don’t know, it just doesn’t make sense to me – no matter how talented Brenda is.

     it’s not a “remake” per se of “Westside Story”, it’s a modern take…Vanessa wants to be in the remake

   I realize that, but still, I’m sure Vanessa would’ve loved to have a role in that movie until the real thing comes along. Plus, it could’ve opened a lot of doors for her.

   Aww! I wish it were a remake..with V in it. Her idol is Natalie Wood.

   thats awesome for brenda but does she have to sing? i’ve just never heard her before. but thats great that shes getting to have a good role on the big screen. shes worked along time and deserves this by now. yall don’t need to worry about vanessa not being in this, and its not even a remake. i love vanessa but jsut be happy for brenda :]

   I’m not sure, I’m only guessing here. And I didn’t mean she should take over Brenda’s role, I’m not bashing Brenda or anything, I’m positive she’s going to nail this, but I do think that Vanessa could’ve used a role in this movie and probably would like to play the modern Maria. I’m not trying to say Brenda doesn’t deserve it, she does more than anyone else, and I love her acting, she’s gonna be perfect for this sort of thing, I just wish someone would’ve at least offered Vanessa a part there.

     you’re making it sound like this is the only movie out there though; maybe she was offered the role but turned it down, maybe she wasn’t offered the role because she didn’t fit the story line.

   But brenda still rocks so I’m haooy for her. I know this has nothing to do with the topic, but someone at OceanUP said Vanessa is the biggest Disney Channel ****e because of her picturess/scandl. I hate it!

    Lian, I think I understand what you’re trying to say, that this movie could have helped V out a lot. But like Chay said, she could have been offered the part and turned it down. We’ll probably never known. Personally, I think Vanessa would do just a good of a job as Brenda but I don’t think it would be a good move for her. People would probably pull the whole “look she can only do movies with singing and dancing she can’t really act” card. She already has Rock On so I think she’s better off without it. I’m anxious to see what role she picks next though. As for Brenda, I’m really excited to see her on the big screen! I feel like she’s been working so hard I. Her career and this is a great and giant step! Lime someone said earlier, I hope we get to hear her sing!!!

    Great for Brenda. I really think that Vanessa should do more movie roles that are not involved with singing and dancing for awhile. Hopefully Vanessa is looking into movie roles that are in action, drama, thriller, sci-fi, horrior, comedy, and romance movies. Vanessa needs to show more of her acting skills that do not involves in singing/dancing/musical type of movies. If the musical is remake of classic movie like Westside Story, then she should do it. As for now, Vanessa should stay away from singing/dancing/musical movie roles for awhile and just take on more serious acting roles that will show case her acting craft. This way she will not be type-casted only for musical movie roles. I am looking forward to see all Vanessa’s future feature movies. Best wishes for Vanessa and Zac in year 2009.

    well i think this is an amazing opportunity for Brenda because vanessa has done 3 musicals and has one more(bandslam)i love both of them and vanessa should be offered roles for her to branch out and brenda needs to be in the spotlight too with all of her talent. i am looking forward to what is in store for vanessa. they are both great no matter what roles they except, just be happy for Brenda.

    How this get turned into a vanessa entry. It seems that some people feel the need to include vanessa in any topic. This is about brenda and how this could be a great opportunity for her, not a topic about how vanessa should have gotten the role. Honestly, brenda is a better actress than vanessa and this is a great role for brenda to shine and break away from disney. SO please guys, if you want to talk about vanessa or some other star, talk about it in some other topic.

    Wow, just wow.
    I’m sorry, but is there a rule of not bringing up other people in a post that’s not dedicated to them? That’s rich… Excuse me if I wanted to express a thought.
    I’ll say it again, I never intended to imply that Brenda doesn’t deserve the role, or that Vanessa would be better as whoever Brenda’s supposed to play. I’m not saying Vanessa should only do musicals, or that she should star in every teen flick, or that they should offer her all the good roles, or that she should be picked over everyone else, or that it’s the only movie out there for her. Just.. seriously, my comment was completely innocent, don’t make it out to be something it’s not; I’m a Brenda fan as much as I’m a Vanessa fan, and I would appreciate if you stopped it there. I wish Brenda the best, and I know she’ll do this role justice. Let’s drop it, okay?

    Now I remember why I stopped commenting here.

    amber, agree with you BUT since Vanessa once mentioned about wetside story being her favorite movie and how she would love to play natalie wood’s character, i think it’s Ok… it’s not like we just throw her name out of nowhere….
