I know we haven’t even started the new year but believe it or not award season is upon us and there are a few dates that we all should be paying attention to NOW! Nominations for the Golden Globes are happening this month and Oscars at the beginning of January and it just so happens that Disney is putting HSM3 out there for just about everything! Screenings are being held in December in LA, NY and San Francisco for voters. While I think we can realistically say that there may not be a “Best Picture” nod waiting for our favorite Wildcats, I think we can say that if there is not at least one trip to the podium, we will be very disappointed!!!
So what is Disney hoping for? Here is the pretty lengthy list:
Best Picture – Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush

Best Original Screenplay – Peter Barsocchini
Best Actor – Zac Efron
Best Actress – Vanessa Hudgens
Best Supporting Actor – Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu

What are your predictions? Maybe “Can I Have This Dance” for at least one or more song nominations and hopefully a win? But I guess we will see–and I hope we are not disappointed! Now is the time to influence your friends who are members of SAG, the Academy, and the Hollywood Foreign Press!
And, mark your calendars, here is the schedule for the nomination announcements and the airing of the award shows.
