The point of the story above is that I believe there is a person like a Qunicy Jones that will paved the way for Vanessa, Corbin, and Monique. All three of these actors have spirits, drive, and work extremely hard in the movie and entertaining industries, especially Vanessa. I know one day…all three will shine through the world far more than Disney or Kenny could ever offer. I always felt that Disney is stepping backward for Vanessa. Vanessa has two big screen movies experience in her resume before HSM. I always felt she should have left HSM and Disney after the HSM1 and expanded herself out to other movies projects that were offered to her. I am supporting Vanessa, Corbin, and Monique. My hopes and wishes that these three will show the world and shine through their talents and skills.

People like to think we’ve gotten past racial issues, but I know we haven’t. I don’t want to be the one running around, calling everyone a racist, but there are some clues that you cannot ignore. Like Vanessa getting paid less for HSM 3, even though she had more screentime and singing time than Ashley. Or the fact that, even though she and Corbin are great singers, Hollywood Records refuses to promote either of them properly, while they shelled out a great deal of money to promote the Jonas Brothers, and Miley Cyrus. Or how people decide she’s wrong before she even opens her mouth to say anything.

JJ just posted something in which Ashley says they get to cut lines because they are Disney stars, and sometimes get to bring fans. So far the comments have been completely positive. I can’t help but wonder how different the reaction would be if Vanessa was the one saying something like that.

I have felt it for a long time and some of the posters and press have made no secret of their prejudices. The salary scale for HSM has done little to change my mind -Zac and Ash get paid on one level and miraculously Vanessa and Corbin get paid on another lower one. Coincidence? maybe but likely. During the years I worked at NBC I saw a lot of questionable stuff but nothing I felt was this obvious and Vanessa had movies in her resume including “Thunderbirds” and the controversial and still mentioned by movie buffs “Thirteen” with Ben Kingsley.

As for anything else I admire Zac for choosing who he wants regardless of race or national origin and my kudos to his parents for how they raised him.

Robin, it’s totally unfair that Ashley is always the saint, and that basically, Zac could say the same exact thing about the paps, and everyone would just feel sorry for him. It has made me sick. They ALL FEEL THE SAME about the paps, and quite honestly, they WERE rude to Vanessa in Australia, and most of the news articles by the media brought up a subject she has put behind her long ago. I don’t blame her for speaking out.

Adrienne, I completely agree with your prejudice theory. All the “Zashley” fans, just want him to be with a typical blonde Cali clone, and dislike Vanessa’s multicultural roots and beauty. But it’s what I love best about her, and respect Zac for…..that he loves someone with more character and does not want a cookie-cutter girl.

I have always personally believed Vanessa criticism was racially motivated. Zac and Ash are both white ergo why people are tying to put them together no matter how many times they both say it’s not happening.

To many people on the boards and other places Vanessa is the mixed race girl who doesn’t know her place as evidence by the fact she is the long time girlfriend of the beautiful blue eyed man and that’s a position for a white girl or so they believed. Some of the remarks about how he needs a blonde girl and how Vanessa looks this way or that are clearly motivated (at least to me) by prejudice

Even Obama’s election isn’t going to change some people’s silly beliefs. That’s the biggest shame of all
