A bit late but that Mirror article posted earlier is really stupid. First of all she was home schooled, secondly, if her mother couldn’t speak English then how in the world could she communicate with Vanessa? obviously Gina would have to explain all those things she’s teaching to her, and Vanessa can’t understand Filipino.

check this ouBusted! After fans waited up to 12 hours to see the stars of High School Musical 3 in Melbourne and showered them with gifts – Zac Efron and co reportedly dumped their gift stash at the cinema where the premiere was held and split straight after their rushed appearance.
Stuffed toy kangaroos, koalas, flowers and cards screaming “I love you Zac!” and “Thanks for coming to Melbourne!” were graciously accepted but then left in a room at the venue for cinema staff to take care of.
“Efron and co rushed through their in-cinema speeches, and quickly escaped the complex via a back door, not giving the gift stash a second look as they left the complex,” report the Herald Sun.
“Village Cinema staff said they felt so bad for the fans they hid the toys and mounds of flowers in a storeroom out of sight.”
The news will no doubt outrage the 3,000 fans who packed into the premiere – but let’s get real here. Zac, Vanessa and Ashley must cop teddys and flowers every day of their lives – and keeping them all would probably require hiring an arena-sized storeroom.
Still, fans are on the rampage – with the envy of every tween girl, Vanessa “Zac’s girlfriend” Hudgens as their target.
After complaining of “obnoxious and invasive” paps in Sydney during her Australian visit, a blogger commented that “if you don’t want photographers snapping pictures of you, don’t be an actor.”

I remember watching the red carpet and saw that their handlers (not sure what they are called) carrying all their gifts so I would think they are the ones that left them there. V’s hander looks like he really cares for her. I’ve seen him with her in all the premier and really takes good care of her.
Boy talk about jealousy, almost anything and everything that Vanessa does
or say is criticized . I don’t understand why she is always singled out,Zac and
Ash usually say the same things and she is the one who makes the headlines.
I truly am a fan of them all but when they single out one, the mother in me
comes out and I want to protect. Some of the rumours and misquotes that
have come out of this HSM promotion makes you wonder how this kids do it.
#92…I agreed with you. It appears that everything that Zac and Ashley said or done, these two gets applauds for it. As for Vanessa, it’s like if she does it right and does it good…she is wrong. If Vanessa does it wrong, then she is wrong and bad. If Zac or Ashley would quoted the same exact words and phrases of Vanessa, then these two are heros. Only her fans will support and stand by her.

I have always personally believed Vanessa criticism was racially motivated. Zac and Ash are both white ergo why people are tying to put them together no matter how many times they both say it’s not happening.
To many people on the boards and other places Vanessa is the mixed race girl who doesn’t know her place as evidence by the fact she is the long time girlfriend of the beautiful blue eyed man and that’s a position for a white girl or so they believed. Some of the remarks about how he needs a blonde girl and how Vanessa looks this way or that are clearly motivated (at least to me) by prejudice
Even Obama’s election isn’t going to change some people’s silly beliefs. That’s the biggest shame of all

Robin, it’s totally unfair that Ashley is always the saint, and that basically, Zac could say the same exact thing about the paps, and everyone would just feel sorry for him. It has made me sick. They ALL FEEL THE SAME about the paps, and quite honestly, they WERE rude to Vanessa in Australia, and most of the news articles by the media brought up a subject she has put behind her long ago. I don’t blame her for speaking out.
Adrienne, I completely agree with your prejudice theory. All the “Zashley” fans, just want him to be with a typical blonde Cali clone, and dislike Vanessa’s multicultural roots and beauty. But it’s what I love best about her, and respect Zac for…..that he loves someone with more character and does not want a cookie-cutter girl.

I have felt it for a long time and some of the posters and press have made no secret of their prejudices. The salary scale for HSM has done little to change my mind -Zac and Ash get paid on one level and miraculously Vanessa and Corbin get paid on another lower one. Coincidence? maybe but likely. During the years I worked at NBC I saw a lot of questionable stuff but nothing I felt was this obvious and Vanessa had movies in her resume including “Thunderbirds” and the controversial and still mentioned by movie buffs “Thirteen” with Ben Kingsley.
As for anything else I admire Zac for choosing who he wants regardless of race or national origin and my kudos to his parents for how they raised him.
It is what you call Bigotry. All I have to say is I’m behind Vanessa a 100% and to go that far as to peek at Zac and Vanessa in their hotel room is an invasion of privacy. Even if they are celebrities, they are not public property 24/7 and are entitled to privacy.
Adrienne, I never thought about the salary thing before. If that’s true, then shame on Disney. Vanessa and Corbin have the strongest voices and are the experienced dancers of the group. I know Ashley is their “Disney darling” and Zac is the lead, but this franchise would be nothing without all of them. The pay scale should have been the same. Again, shame on them.
I do think racial prejudices has a lot to do with why Vanessa recieves so much hate. It’s horrible that people don’t think Vanessa’s good enough for Zac because she is not white, or that people think Ashley’s good enough because she is. As a biracial girl I feel personally offended whenever I see people try to argue that Ashley is better for Zac because she’s a blonde, or she’s beautiful because she’s a blonde, or that Vanessa is “dirty” because she’s part filipino.
People like to think we’ve gotten past racial issues, but I know we haven’t. I don’t want to be the one running around, calling everyone a racist, but there are some clues that you cannot ignore. Like Vanessa getting paid less for HSM 3, even though she had more screentime and singing time than Ashley. Or the fact that, even though she and Corbin are great singers, Hollywood Records refuses to promote either of them properly, while they shelled out a great deal of money to promote the Jonas Brothers, and Miley Cyrus. Or how people decide she’s wrong before she even opens her mouth to say anything.
JJ just posted something in which Ashley says they get to cut lines because they are Disney stars, and sometimes get to bring fans. So far the comments have been completely positive. I can’t help but wonder how different the reaction would be if Vanessa was the one saying something like that.
The Prince of Belair, a rapper, that started his rapping career toward the end of 1980’s and the beginning of 1990’s. His rapping musics have achieved platiums until IRS come forth to garnished his earnings. Quincy Jones, a jazz musican, came along to help promote this young rapper that is trying to make in the entertainment business. Quincy Jones produced a TV sitcom called “The Prince of Belair” and started this young rapper named Will Smith in acting. I remember how the media and critic said that this TV sitcom will be cancelled by the middle of its first season, because Will Smith was critized that he can not act. This show went on for more than 5 years. As for Will Smith, he started appearing in big screen movies and, of course, the media said that he can only do TV series and does not belong on big screen movies. Well, he has won Oscars and is one of the most highest paid actors. Both Will Smith and Quincy Jones are African American. Quincy Jones, a successful jazz musican and producer, paved the way for Will Smith.
The point of the story above is that I believe there is a person like a Qunicy Jones that will paved the way for Vanessa, Corbin, and Monique. All three of these actors have spirits, drive, and work extremely hard in the movie and entertaining industries, especially Vanessa. I know one day…all three will shine through the world far more than Disney or Kenny could ever offer. I always felt that Disney is stepping backward for Vanessa. Vanessa has two big screen movies experience in her resume before HSM. I always felt she should have left HSM and Disney after the HSM1 and expanded herself out to other movies projects that were offered to her. I am supporting Vanessa, Corbin, and Monique. My hopes and wishes that these three will show the world and shine through their talents and skills.
