We know, we know…we are really late with this post…but we have been on an HSM3 high that has lasted for over a week so far and you will be getting sick of our blogging this week…there are so many things to share!!!!
So the first of a few posts…we have to start with the HSM3 World Premiere in LA on October 16! We were actually there! And, how the heck did we get so lucky you ask? Well if you ever wonder if it is worth entering those contests on disney.com, it is! We entered the Ultimate Fan Contest on disney.com everyday and it just so happened that one of us actually won 4 tickets to the premiere! We are definitely having the luckiest year ever…so what follows is the adventure we had at the premiere of HSM3 in LA!
Our experience actually began on the airplane ride from Salt Lake City to LA when Brett just so happened to be sitting next to a certain choreogrpaher (Bonnie Story) and a dancer (Bayli Baker). I was sitting up further in the plane and couldn’t believe it when I got the text informing me of this development! I think I scared the people next to me when I started laughing out loud! Needless to say, by the end of the plane ride, Brett had two new friends!
After getting the luggage and car, we made our way to our hotel in Hollywood and the process of getting us red carpet ready began. Let’s just say Brett does good hair and Allie does great eyes! We looked fabulous don’t you think?
Thanks to the driving abilities of Brett’s mom, we got to the Galen Center in record time and needless to say we were a little excited. As the USC campus came into view and we were ready to make the final turn, it was the coolest thing ever–we saw the red carpet, we saw Chris Warren giving an interview in his dapper suit! The cameras, the lights, the HSM signs! We saw the crowd!!!! We parked, grabbed our stuff and run across the street past all the fans behind barricades! We, of course, went to will call and picked up our guest passes which was right by the limo drop off. We put on our special guest credentials and made our way to our red carpet–it was separated from the “real” red carpet. As soon as we were ready to walk–bam–right in front of us–Ashley–we were like, “is that Ashley?” “She has dark hair!” “OMG, she looks beautiful!” We just stood there and stared at her until a security guy said “Move along!” She was going to be interviewed by Extra and we were almost in the shot. As we continued to walk we took photos and took it all in! We yelled at Bonnie and Bayli and they waved at us and told us we looked great! We saw Kenny and Manly, Brenda Song, Kyle Massey, KayCee Stroh…
It was overwhelming and so exciting and we just wanted so stay on it forever….but those darn security guards…oh well! We realized that the main cast members hadn’t arrived yet and we wanted to go back out but couldn’t…so we decided to go in. It was crazy but accommodated the crowd well. We had snacks courtesy of Sara Lee and got a handful of HSM3 tatoos and of course, our Wildcat pompons! Then we saw all the principal dancers–of course, Bayli again, Shane Harper, Shawn Carter, Roger “Ro” Malaga, Mollee Gray, Haylee Roderick, etc. They were having a mini-reunion and were so darn cute. And, then we saw Jared Murillo! He looked great! At this point we had permanent smiles on our faces!
Finally it was time to make our way to our seats…we were in the end section but in the lower tier. Great seats! Then we kept seeing Disney stars who were sitting in our section–Alyson Stoner and Meghan Martin from Camp Rock, Camilla and Rebecca Rosso (the British twins from Suite Life), Anna Maria Perez from Hannah Montana and Camp Rock and Jessie got most of their autographs! Then Paula Abdul came in and was probably 6 rows in front of us! Again, what a score! So the only annoying thing all night was the MC who was trying to get us to do the wave and HELLOOOO…red carpet on the large screen behind you…we are NOT doing the wave! Did he not see Zac and Vanessa and Corbin and Monique arrive? They also showed us all the BTS footage which was fun to see on the big screen!
The red carpet went on forever and ever and ever…but as that was going on, we observed where all the dancers were sitting and then found Bart Johnson in the crowd and his wife, Robin Lively, and Brad Johnson and then we spied David Efron but didn’t see any other Efrons or the Hudgens as everyone was seated and it was difficult to pick people out!
Finally, the lights dimmed and the President of Disney came out and introduced Kenny and the cast. We were definitely disappointed that Lucas was not there…but as you saw everyone looked great! And then it was time…what we had been waiting for since forever…THE movie!
Ok so we watched the movie and went home…The End.
No, just kidding. So we know we are biased since it was filmed in our hometown, and we were extras and spent all that great time on-set and we know many of the featured extras and even some of the crew and we love HSM but can we just say, the movie just rocks? We sat at the edge of our seats and just loved every minute! It was great to have audience reaction at all the right times and at this point, I’m sure you agree that the musical numbers and choreography were spectacular, the TG moments were aw-worthy, the Ryan/Kelsi moments were adorable and Chad/Taylor–just loved it! There was definitely more comedy–can you say, “the Rocketman!” It was fun, entertaining and was definitely made for the big screen. The dancing by the cast was impressive and we want to know where Zac perfected those hip moves? Must have been all those private lessons! We definitely didn’t want it to end and are so hoping for at least another hour added for the extended DVD version?
As you saw in the pics, Kenny brought the entire cast down on the floor after the movie and Chucky and Roger tried to get the crowd up while “High School Musical” played. Kenny brought Bonnie up to the front and it was fun to see everyone hugging and congratulating each other–we know that for many of the cast this was the first time they actually saw the movie! We stuck around for awhile and then the main cast started to disperse out the back exit so we headed to the main exit. There we ran into a few featured extras that had been invited by Kenny as well as some of the dancers again. Jessie and Allie managed to get pics with Alyson Stoner and Meghan Martin from Camp Rock.
As we hung out just mingling, we ran into Tyler Hamway and his mom. He’s in several scenes so you need to remember to look for him. We also met Alexander Farnsworth who played Ms. Darbus’ assistant. And, you also need to pay attention toward the end of the movie–note the people sitting right behind the Boltons during graduation–we’ll see who you recognize and if you are paying attention! There will be a quiz!
So with that, our feet hurt and we were done! What an experience! We went to the premiere for High School Musical 3! It was still just hard to believe! We hope you all are not disappointed in our account but for us it wasn’t about seeing ZV or watching to see if they held hands or had a moment…they were together that was for sure…but it was just being there to experience something as big as this. It was just a spectacular night and it was just so incredible to there! Thank you disney.com!
Congratulations to Kenny, Bill, Barry, Bonnie, Chucky, Zac, Vanessa, Corbin, Monique, Ashley, Lucas, Ryne, Chris, Olesya, KayCee, all of the dancers, all of the crew and all of the extras for a fun and entertaining movie! It exceeded our expectations! The world is going to love it and we can’t wait to see it another 10 times!
Your very late premiere crew,
Brett, Allie, Jessie and Marcie

It’s an experience of a lifetime, one that’s hard to believe that you’ve had the fortune to have experienced even afterwards; you’re in a happy daze for weeks.
Thanks a bunch for sharing and I’m glad that you guys had fun.
