Next week marks an important milestone for fans at Zac’s board on FanForum. We are about to celebrate 300 threads of Living in Love, and to help commemorate the occasion Jill sent out a small questionnaire for several of us to fill out. Although the task was direct and didn’t require too much input, my ramblings somehow meandered off course as is often the case, and resulted in a longer than necessary tribute which I’d like to share with all of you. It’s kind of amazing that for many Zac fans, “Zanessa” inevitably becomes part of the conversation, and it’s no wonder given that for many they go hand in hand. I joined the FF/VABN community in October of 2007,which was also a pivotal point in Zac and Vanessa’s relationship, and I was happy to see over the subsequent weeks that Zac proved to be a worthy BF in every aspect, and I’ve rarely been disappointed in his actions where V is concerned, or anywhere else for that matter. I am the defender after all ~LOL. And Vanessa,……..so obviously makes him happy that if she were not a talented, gorgeous triple-threat in her own right, well than, she would still be my #1 girl crush. To me there really is no way you can claim to be a fan of Zac’s and not support his relationship with Vanessa.

So as I pondered Jill’s questions, deciding what event and photograph of Zac and Vanessa are my favorites, my thoughts and responses automatically fell into two categories. Public ZV versus private ZV. Their love story has been documented via both candid and promotional appearances, yet despite this fact I was not surprised that each offer a similar prospective, and I believe that all of it has been a joy to watch. I continue to look back to an “Act of Love” that was coined as part of another Zac Appreciation Thread…..”They have shared a million moments, but we have only witnessed a fraction of them.” That singular sentiment defines their relationship for me, and I’m just so happy to have glimpsed some of those moments.

Interestingly enough, scouring through my PhotoBucket led me to make another observation regarding the numerous times this pair has been seen at public events. I actually thought of the classic……”if a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound……?” Huh….I see you scratching your head, but as a fangirl who occasionally writes about Zac and Vanessa in one fashion or another, and whose musings inevitably have a protective bias I thought……., “if a couple are together, and there are cameras around to take pictures, does that mean their love for one another is not real?” That it’s somehow staged or fake? Seeing their relationship through the camera’s eye, whether on the Red Carpet or grabbing smoothies on a Sunday afternoon, always sets tongues wagging, and whenever those moments are captured on film, many seize the opportunity to invalidate Zac and Vanessa’s relationship simply because those pictures wind up being flashed across millions of TV screens, and blogged about for days or even weeks on end. The NBA Playoffs were one such recent example, as was their attendance at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Either way, except for the strapless dress, and suit, Zac and Vanessa offered the same laid back, easy intimacy we’ve seen countless times before. I feel confident then, believing that the answer to my question is “no,” if a couple are together, and there are cameras about, it doesn’t mean their love is not real. Duh.

I have previously “confessed” that Zac and Vanessa gave me the gift of squee, and that is one of the most fun aspects of their story. What I find so compelling however, is that because their relationship is real, it continues to evolve, change and grow, thereby never allowing my fascination to wane. They kept their love hidden for well over a year, yet we knew better, and we still do, and I’m betting that it doesn’t end anytime soon. Each new day, event, week or moment sparkles with their Live in Love attitude, as they have slowly revealed more and more of themselves to the world. There is a reason that the images we have of them are so varied, numerous, and vivid. We’ve witnessed how they choose to walk through life, …..together, in step, while stealing secret glances, and seeking each other’s touch. Nothing ever looks forced, or unnatural, with or without the cameras. The moments just……… are.

Recently it was a simple kiss, and “thank you baby” that conveyed the inner workings of their harmonious spirits to the outside world, that is if everyone in that world had cared to take a moment to think, watch and listen. No screaming necessary. So, in the end, I too have become infected by their joy, and am not looking for a cure anytime soon ~LOL, and I’m confident my fangirl friends aren’t seeking one either.

So if you haven’t given up on me yet, and are still curious…these are some of my answers to Jill’s questions……

Fav event: Two examples stand out in my mind, and again I can’t help but take the candid versus public approach. BFs 20th birthday was a total Kuuipo win, not only because it was a complete surprise, but it also allowed us to revel in how adorable and sexy they truly are. How do they even do that!?

As for an event, PS was just completely squee-worthy. And maybe all those cameras actually helped to highlight what we always see, what the naysayers don’t want to see. That night, we saw them, just them, among a sea of people, press and photographers, yet despite the frenzy, I believe they revealed themselves for who they truly are. The obvious joy mirrored through their matching smiles simply because they made a decision to share a special night together, for me, speaks louder than any scream or overt declaration ever could.

Fav pic: Promotional: I would say George Lange FTMFW! Their presence in that shoot is amazing and nearly impossible to accurately describe. How could any other two people, even if they are that gorgeous make floaties, a fake pool and ice cream cones look like……….. that. “Yea, they’ve got cutest couple in the bag,” admitted Mr. Lange. No wonder we love him.

And it’s no wonder that we love them too.
