I think we nailed down the reasons why our favorite blonde, Ashley Tisdale, spent some time away from the High School Musical set this past week (besides the fact that she filmed a lot of her scenes during the first month of shooting).

First up on the agenda is Ashley’s straight-to-DVD movie Picture This, which is actually going to premiere on the cable channel ABC Family (July 18th 8:00/10:00 ET/PT - check your local listing for channel). The movie will be available for purchase on July 22nd; so make sure you pick up a copy. With the premiere and drop date so close who knows what type of prep work Ashley had to take care of for this movie (she’s one of the producers).

Ashley also completed her series of vlogs for her DegreeGirl campaign. This turns out to be more involve than we first thought - she recorded 5 cover songs which are available with your purchase of DegreeGirl (so, perfect time to stack up on deodorant ladies ). If you’re curious, here’s a snippet of her version of Through the Walls (for the life of me I can’t think who did the original - fill me in by leaving it on the comments)

The next part is the one I’m most excited about - she took part in a Vanity Fair photoshoot for the magazines annual “Movies Rock” issue. The 10-page spread will be a recreation of the classic movie “Westside Story”. I’m not sure what scene or character she portrayed (Camilla Belle is Maria) but I’m sure she will do justice to it. The issue comes out in November so look out for that.

And lastly - this probably did not take up a lot of her time in Los Angeles - but we have to definitely mention it - Ashley’s album
Headstrong has been certified GOLD!

She is back in Salt Lake City being Sharpay Evans as of this writing - filming in EHS.
