Normally, it’s the other way around telling everyone to get out and do something, but why not give them a reason to stay in? You don’t have to waste any gas driving anywhere, or money when you need popcorn to watch a movie! It costs nothing and that’s possibly the best thing yet. Want a reason to stay in and watch the tube? (Or at least get off the computer and watch it?) We’ve got 5 Reasons to do just that.

1. DCOMS! DCOMS and full of pure Disney, family-friendly fun and let us not forget that our preferred DCOM, High School Musical was a worldwide hit. First on the list is Camp Rock, starring the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and Alyson Stoner, and you can find our own guide to it here. It premieres this Friday, so I hope you have your TiVos and DVRs set!

Next up after that is The Cheetah Girls: One World. Not a lot of spoilers have surfaced on this DCOM and Raven isn’t in it, but it combines two great regimes into one: Bollywood & Hip Hop. Disney has aired two ‘Roads’ to India and just released the first music video as well. You can check them out all on out YouTube Channel. TCG: One World is set to premiere in August, just in time for school to start back up.

2. Million Dollar Password - Now we all know Neil Patrick Harris was probably the pull of the whole premise when ABC was airing promos, but the real pull for all of us, is Monique Coleman. Not only is this revived game show all sorts of fun (how much better can it get screaming a television, words that you know the contestants aren’t going to hear, let alone guess and still be entertained?), but with Monique and Damien from TRL on the same episode? I am so there. Don’t bother me on July 6th, I’ll be screaming at my television.

3. HSM Reality Get in The Picture - Hosted by Drew Lachey and premiering July 20th on Disney owned ABC, the reality series is set out to literally find the next triple threat, that’s sing, dance and act, if you didn’t know. I don’t think the reality show will find the next Ashley, Corbin, Lucas, Monique, Vanessa or Zac and not even Jemma or Matt, but hey, gotta give some kids things to believe in and plus, it will viewers something to watch and ABC a chance to raise its ratings in the summer again. HSM has the worldly appeal, so it will definitely bring in the viewers.

Contestants will live together for 6 weeks and perform in a singing/dancing contest. They will be booted twice weekly from the show which will begin airing July 20 on ABC. Filming will occur between June 1 and July 2 for 34 days. The grand prize winner will be awarded a recording contract and a music video will be part of the closing credits for HSM3. And as Marcie said in May, maybe we’ll get a cameo

4. The American Mall - You know that when ABC & MTV is cashing in on an idea, you know it’s big. So, not only are we going to see ABC find the next HSM-type triple threat, but MTV is also bringing you their version. And better yet? We get to see Autumn Reeser bring back a bit of Taylor Townsend in her own version of Sharpay, err, I mean, Madison. MTV is set to air The American Mall August 11, 2008.

5. Picture This! - It’s a rehashed storyline in and out, but the appeal of this one that will probably shatter the rest of ABC Family’s mini-movies on their channel? Ashley Tisdale. The girl has appeal, some sex appeal, some all around girl-who-you-want-to-be-your-best-friend-appeal, and yea, she’s another quadruple threat like her fellow VanAshBreNique girls.

Picture This! stars Ashley and Life with Derek hottie, Robbie Amell, as well as Kevin Pollack and it’s all about a girl, Mandy, played by Tisdale, an unpopular high school senior who lands a date to the biggest party of the year with Drew, the schools hottest guy. But while her dreams are finally coming into focus, with the help of her friends, shell have to battle her overprotective dad and Drews ex-girlfriend, whos determined to keep Mandy away from the bash. In one crazy, adventure-filled day, Mandy strives to get to the party and discovers that popularity can come and go, but good friends will always be in the picture. Picture This! is set to air on ABC Family July 13, 2008.

So, is that enough reason to get off the computer, pop some popcorn and have a movie night with your friends? And if you’re over 21 in the States, you can even make up your own drinking game! HSM is a classic to start with
