Okay, are we all still squeeing over the latest candid of our favorite couple from some unknown location in Salt Lake City? It certainly gave us plenty to sigh about. Take a second look while I recap: Boyfriend’s arm around girlfriend’s shoulder, holding her tight; said girlfriend leaning comfortably against her man; a sign of peace by Mr. Efron directed at fans, or is it possibly a state of mind?; both sporting happy grins, and gasp! Matching plaid shirts! EEK!!!!!

We know Zac has an affinity for plaid and most of us see this somewhat old-manish quirk as adorkable, but V in plaid too! Now don’t get me wrong, Vanessa can never, repeat, never look bad, even if her gorgeousness were to don a burlap sack, except, of course if she were to put it over her head. But matching plaid????!!!!! (Okay I’m done with the exclamation points, for now.)

Another thing we know is that this beautiful couple often matches. We’ve seen it on the Red Carpet (hello Hot Springs), and the DVD premier of HSM2 when they wore matching leather—which Zac lamely tried to pass off as a group agreement gone awry—even with jewelry, coughcommitmentringscough, now it seems we see it in plaid as well. But there is one other matching phenomenon that has recently been brought to light, and was skillfully detected by our own Jill-Renay; their matching stride. After she obsessively stared (sorry Jill, but your persistence did pay off in the end) at two key pics where our favorite couple is casually walking, Jill presented us with her observation by quoting Tracey Cox (who I assumed had to be a poet, but ironically is a sex expert).

at the same speed through life.”

This behavior is not new. A look back on many of their candids during the last year, illustrates this same point. And it matters not whether they are holding hands.

These words of wisdom, coupled with the innumerable times that they have been captured walking this way, lend insight into the inner workings of their spiritual alignment in a way that we kuuipos often gush about, and in a way that only a “poet” like Tracey Cox, and a persistent RM like Jill-Reney can help us validate.

I hesitate to use the term photographic evidence, because they/we do not need to give anyone evidence of anything, but if I did have to use that term, well let’s just say this latest evidence speaks volumes.

So the point of all my matching musings? What started as a joke, because we joke a lot at FanForum, especially about boyfriend, got me thinking. Although I never really want to see V in this type of plaid again, unless it’s a shirt of Zac’s—or dare I say it, a pair of his plaid boxers—I flove the fact that they often match, because it really is just too adorable and sweet. But why do they do it? Is it conscious? Sometimes yes, most times, probably not. Certainly we can surmise that jewelry, and attire chosen for the Red Carpet, maybe even sunglasses are planned. Smiles, loving glances and the way they choose to walk through life, matching each other stride for stride, I think not. Because for them, in the end, it’s never too much of a good thing!
