daydreaming with VABN

Do you ever have one of those days when you just want to take control over something that really isn’t your responsibility – not because you are a control freak (ok, maybe just a little) but you are convinced that you can do the job/task better? Take for example the promotion of Vanessa Hudgens’ second album, Identified. Now mind you – I’m far from an expert (in fact I don’t claim to be an expert of anything) but I think I could come up with a couple of things to let the buying/listening public know about the upcoming album release.

You’re sitting there thinking – sure Chay, you just want to use that new promo picture. Uhm… you would be correct. But I did spend about 15 minutes to come up with the following list that I honestly think could give enough exposure for the album (and of course I want to rule the world - HAH!).

Call it a wishlist if you must; but I will actually be checking this list in the next month or so – to see if any of them actually got done:

Chay’s Identified Promo Blitz

Appearances:

MTV Movie Awards on June 1st – as a presenter
Good Morning America – perform “Sneakernight” and a ballad from the album (”Gone with the Wind” maybe?)
Regis and Kelly – perform “Gone with the Wind”
Jay Leno – perform an upbeat song other than Sneakernight
Ellen – perform “Sneakernight” and a ballad
So You Think You Can Dance – perform “Sneakernight” and another upbeat song (could do “Let’s Dance”)
MTV TRL – co-host and perform
TODAY Show – perform in their summer concert series

Magazines (cover preferably but editorials are acceptable)

Teen Vogue
NYLON
Elle
Blender and/or RollingStone (if she gets the cover of one she most likely won’t be a cover of the other one)

Radio

Call in to several Top 40 stations of biggest markets
In-studio appearance to KIISFm (Ryan or Jojo) and Z100

Yahoo! Launch

Those are just in the next month - I think she needs to stop by radio stations when she’s on tour in August. Oh and Evan - feel free to copy the list.

Antonina Armato wrote “Vulnerable”, along with Fasse John Read, Price Timothy James and Scapa Nicolas Jack. I found it at Antonina’s ASCAP page.

Also, Antonina and Tim James wrote “Committed” for Vanessa.

I think that “Set It Off” was produced by Dr. Luke, right?

Avex International is Identified’s publisher at Japan. They’re pretty big.

The new and official Identified’s release date at Japan is on June 25th. Also, they published the tracklist with three bonus trakcs:

Kat I don’t think Vanessa really had a choice on which song was the 1st single. That’s usually up to the record company.

off subject but…
also there is another access hollywood video besides the Zac, Vanessa, and Ashley ones. It is one where they are talking to the costume designer of HSM3 Caroline Marx.

Hopefully the rating will go up once Vanessa starts her album/single promotion. I know several people mentioned that they didn’t think it sounded like Vanessa and she stated that even her own friends thought that. Hopefully once people see her perform it and once they seem the music video and commerical the rating and its ranking will go up on itunes.
