Could you imagine Cody Linley in “Will”?
Remember when we were speculating on who was going to be in Will with Vanessa Hudgens and Aly Michalka, especially when some of us got to read the leaked script? Around the same time , word was going around that Cody Linley, aka Jake Ryan of Hannah Montana, was after the role of “Ben”. When I heard that, I actually hoped that he wouldn’t get the role. I believe my words were “nah, too scrawny for the role”. Somewhat mean, right? I mean, I just couldn’t see Liam Aiken (we didn’t know about Gaelan yet) being intimidated by Cody. For me he’s just too young looking for the role; and I couldn’t visualize an on-screen chemistry with Aly either. A lot of my opinion on Cody of course was from his performance in Hannah Montana since I’m not really familiar with his other work - so you could say it’s unfounded. Then a VABN reader, Lauren, brought over this video of Cody auditioning for the role (wasn’t a rumor afterall):
I think he did a good job but I still think he wouldn’t have been the perfect fit for “Ben”. He should have auditioned for the role of “Will” though - I think he would have had a better chance there. But I do think the boy can sing.
What do you think? Did the casting director of Will missed out on Cody?

i like his singing more than his acting..
i agree, he should have auditioned for Will. he’s more attractive than liam and gaelan, and i think he’d be better at a less pretentious character (maybe he auditioned for “ben” because his character on hannah montana was cocky too)
