Just for CosmoGIRL

Dear CosmoGIRL; publishers, employees and distributors;
This is first really ‘open’ letter so I’m not going to josh around and lead you astray. I’ll simply get right to the point. You, all of you, owe us, Miss Vanessa Hudgens, her friends & family an apology. I am no stranger to apologies, issuing several this past month from my own mouth and trying to learn from my actions. This would be your opportune time to do this as well.
As you published this on your website yesterday and today, it’s completely vanished with no word whatsoever. Why would you do that? As Portable Planet reported here, we have to admit, we agree. Fullheartedly. It’s not just the fact that you published a story without a valid, concrete source, but you did so to get hits and you take it down, without a word and that is cause for me and I’m pretty sure a few others to take a step back and question any other stories you may have published like this. But more than that, I think the part that bothers me most is that you used a supposed “quote” from Gina, Vanessa’s mother that was so far from the truth and I don’t know how to respond to that. This needs to be addressed. You site is a big site, one that teenage girls who look up to Vanessa go to everyday. You need to issue a formal apology not only to Vanessa herself, but to her fans, friends and her family. If Gina and Greg have supported her through everything this far - and yes, I’m talking about the scandal - then they will stand beside her through anything. Heck, even Zac has and you know that a guy standing beside you means the world to a lot of people.
So, all in all, CosmoGIRL, you need to do this. To save not only your viewership and demographic hits that you covet, but also your journalistic ethic. That’s one of the first rules of journalism - always have a source.
Sincerely,
the VABN Staff
ETA:
CosmoGIRL “apologized” - sound a little forced though, like the only reason for the apology is because they got caught being stupid. Didn’t gain any points back in my book

I have just sent off an email to Cosmogirl. The cheek of it! They should sign up to V’s class of How to say sorry 101.

go Malia! I love it!

Sorry, I just can’t let this go. I sent CosmoGirl the following:
Your lame, half-ass apology regarding the Vanessa Hudgens being arrested article doesn’t cut it for me or the other millions of Vanessa Hudgens fans out there. You see, a great number of us are not teeny boppers who believe everything we read. We see through your duplicity.
DENIAL IS NOT AN APOLOGY.
I have a printed copy and screen shot of the article and know exactly what you reported.
If you had any journalistic ethics–which obviously you don’t–you would issue an APOLOGY to Vanessa Hudgens, and to her mother, whom you attributed a statement to that she did not make. That is out-and-out lying. You should also issue an APOLOGY to all of Vanessa Hudgens’ fans. And that apology should be posted on your web site with the title APOLOGY TO VANESSA HUDGENS, HER MOTHER AND ALL HER FANS.

Naomi, that was wonderful.
I hope you sent it to CoseoGirl. If you didn’t, please do so.

Compare and Contrast!
Someone leaked V’s private pictures, she apologised publicly immediately to her fans without making any excuses and she is still being crucufied for not being a good role model. A so-called respectable magazine like Cosmogirl, who, I might add, caters to the same fan base as V falsely accuses a young girl publicly of something she did not do and does not have the grace or integrity to apologise without making excuses until V’s fans deluged them with angry emails, yet the self-righteous people who still attack V are happy to ignore that.
Who is the better role model? Who better can demonstrate to kids that it takes strength and maturity to say sorry and admit to mistakes? Heck, even politicians and spouses are still learning how to say sorry with grace.
Well, Cosmogirl, V came out tops in this. I’m so happy she did not even acknowledge that she’s heard of your silly accusations and is obviously having a blast in Texas.
Her class and poise is way out of your league and that of your fans. Stick to the Teenyboppers and don’t mess with classy ladies.
Our gorgeous-ness is looking so happy and pretty, she will yet have the last laugh

I agree Malia - everyone should still write them a letter. They could at least apologize to Gina too.

Well, that was a lame, half-ass apology, but I guess we can’t expect more than that.

We won!

I sent an e-mail to CosmoGirl telling them what I thought of their posting such an article. I also told them that I hope Vanessa Hudgens’ camp slaps them with a law suit.

If I were Vanessa’s PR Manager I would actually be delighted that this happened, because it’s ultimately a winning situation for Vanessa. There is undeniable (and multiple) photographic proof (as well as witnesses) that she was most certainly NOT where Cosmogirl said she was. Even BETTER for PR, she was working AND a few states away.
It’s pretty iron-clad.
And in the end, who is going to look better?
Yes, if I were her PR Manager, this would be great news because it’s absolutely not true, and my client has been wronged.

I bet CosmoGirl feels real stupid now that all the pictures are surfacing about where she really was on Sunday!!!

Tsk Tsk . And I always thought Cosmo girl was a reputable teen magazine even though I dont read it. They should retract. but just asking, have they retracted a story before? or this will be their first time? if they do retract this one.
