Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens will join Miley Cyrus (and many big name Hollywood stars) in Fox’s American Idol Gives Back Charity special, to help raise funds for multiple charitable organizations.
The two Wildcats will more likely appear in a pre-taped segment; both will be in the middle of rehearsals for High School Musical 3 in Salt Lake City come April 9th.

RK says: I think Vanessa is a very good actress and deserves the award. She is great as Gabriella. Nobody else could play the role quite like her. Plus, she helped bring all the screen chemistry with Zac Efron. Gabriella is good girl so it doesn’t require a whole lot of acting range. But, combined with her singing and dancing in HSM, I think she is great. And, I think Vanessa will prove to people that she can act. Just give it time.

The reason a lot of people don’t think Vanessa can act is because High School Musical doesn’t really showcase her ability to act. Gabriella is a easy good girl character who is suppose to look cute and pretty when she needs to and than suppose to be sad when you need to.
Lots of my friends has been telling me Vanessa can’t act, and I ask why and their like because of HSM, it’s too easy and Gabriella is too cheesy. That’s how Gabriella is suppose to be.
But as Vanessa grows and get more movie roles, she will show us exactly how good at acting she really is. Just some time is all she needs. She’s already great at dancing and singing!
I think Vanessa deserves the award, and I can’t wait to see if she will be attending or not..

RK says: I agree:) I like Vanessa’s subtle and expressive acting. She can say so much with her eyes and facial expressions. That is refreshing considering so many actors, especially younger ones, overdo it and it comes off looking over-the-top. But, Vanessa is great as Gabriells. She made so many fans fall in love with the character. She’s got screen charisma and presence. Plus, she does fine with the material given to her. Gabriella doesn’t get many chances to be angry or dramatic. But, V does well when it’s called for. Vanessa may never be Meryl Streep or win an Oscar but I think she’s special.

RK says: Yes. And, she was terrific in Thunderbirds and the comedy show appearances she has made on various programs like The Suite Life. I guess some people need to see her act more but I love the stuff V has done so far. And, imo, she’s the best singer/dancer from HSM’s main cast.

Corrie was one of my favoirite characters just because of how funny she is and the hilarious facial expressions. Vanessa can act. If people pay enough attention.
She is one of the best dancer, and the choreographer, Chucky, even said Vanessa cathces on to the dances pretty quick ad she was like a natural. (=

RK says: Yeah…I read that recently about Vanessa picking up on the dance moves quickly. Maybe, “Will” can help some doubters change their mind about V’s acting. But, I think it’s a nice boost for Vanessa to get that Asian actor’s award nomination. Every little bit counts.
