Vanessa CDVU+

I know some of you are a little worried that Hollywood Records would again not do much promotion when Vanessa’s second album comes out. And I don’t blame you; I feel the same way.

But let’s consider a couple of things that might show that Hollywood Records does know how much of an asset she is to the company.

If you have been a regular visitor of VABN for awhile, you might have remembered our article on how Hollywood Records is using a new way of distributing their artists’ records, called the CDVU+. As stated on that article, Hollywood Records plans on distributing the second album using the CDVU+ format.

To give you an idea, here’s the features in the latest Jonas Brothers album that uses this format.

Hollywood Records recently announced features to be included on CDVU+ releases and the first release of the Jonas Brothers album[3], these include:

Offered in an easy-to-navigate digital magazine format.
50-page interactive digital package is printable and can be downloaded, and then accessed both on and offline.
Song lyrics, 10 different video segments with the band, behind the scenes footage.
Video offers fans an intimate guitar instruction session with bands.
Letters from the artists.
75 printable photos of the band (Jonas Brothers).
For JB release there is a link to Flickr.com and JonasBrothers.com offers fans continually
updated information and content including new photo albums and videos of The Jonas Brothers on tour.

Customizable autographed poster creator where fans can upload their own image into different band scenarios (JB).
Special hidden links to exclusive content only available via CDVU+.
CDVU+ is eco-friendly: 100% recycled material (35% post-consumer).

As you can see, quite a lot of intensives to get people to buy the album.

One other thing, that I’m sure the suits over at Hollywood Records will take into consideration, is the fact that Vanessa’s first album has officially sold at least 675,000 copies worldwide (560k+ in the US alone) - that’s with just one officially released single and no promotion outside the US (Japan got some print ads).

Vanessa might not be Hilary Duff (yet) in terms of record sales for Hollywood Records - but she is on her way; and they know this. They wouldn’t let her work with big name producers if they think otherwise.

   Yeah I also think Hollywood records knows that Vanessa is important to them. So I hope her CD does come in the CDVU format cause i SO can’t wait for the album to come out!!

    have been played on the radio. But

    mi mom will only let me buy 1… shes not that into V… I am a fan, but let’s say my mom knows nothin’ about Vanessa, so i can only ask for 1 cd… if i ask for 2 or more… she and my big sis will kinda “complain” and say “why 2 copies? you r just gonna use 1! we are not gonna buy 2!!” and i’ll be like “okay… its an importan cd but you 2 are right… i guess i’ll get just one…thats ok right?” yeah… its ok.. lol luv V and the ZVDUO lol bye guys.. i rather biy the cd in target in Laredo ’cause if i buy it here in mexico it’ll cost like $25 dollars, and if i buy it un Laredo maybe it’ll cost just like 10 or 12 dollars i think? lol bye!

    I can’t wait for V’s album!!! I think it’s going to be a huge hit!! hopefully her album will go platinum!!…and hopefully she will have a DVD that’s all about Vanessa! And hopefully, this time, her album will go millions of copies sold!…GO VANESSA!!! whoot! whoot!
