Nealon to go “Upstairs” with Ashley

Even more casting news has graced us and even more coming (wink, wink). Kevin Nealon, most known for those Funniest Commercial of the Year specials on TBS and TNT has just been cast as Ashley’s daddy, Stuart Pearson. Gillian Vigman has already been cast as Nina Pearson, her mom.

They Came From Upstairs, filmed in Auckland, New Zealand (where Ashley will be heading to soon), revolves around a group of teens who team up to defend their Maine home from alien invasion.

Anyone else but me think it’s kind of silly to be filming a “Maine home” in Auckland? I know it’s probably really beautiful and everything - but this is Maine. It’s sooooooooo pretty there.

hey Jill i’ve never seen maine before but Auckland has some pretty amazing landscape outside of the city what im really hoping for is that ashley will travel the country and come down to christchurch though! (thats in the south island) fingers crossed!

never been to Maine either but have visited Auckland/Waitakere (did I spell that right?) area… and it’s GORGEOUS! I want to go back and check out the South Island too

maybe they are taking advantage of WETA digital being based in new zealand. maybe there is a ton of CG in this movie and they need the expertise. just a thought.

that’s a good point Sheila… and there might just be lots of CG; I mean what could make this movie have a budget of $60mil, right?

maybe they get tax breaks or something there so its cheaper to film it there.

well if its 60million US thats like 73million NZ so prob be cheaper to film i guess? chay u so should! the south island is WAY prettier than the north but i may be bias lol
