The Scoop on HSM 3 Extras

As a new member of VABN, I thought finding some good info on being an extra may be helpful!  As you’ve seen from recent articles, it has been confirmed that HSM 3 will be filmed in Salt Lake City–again at East High School and other nearby locations.  Seems that the Utah Film Commission came up with an incentive that couldn’t be passed up plus–how could they really choose another East High School?   The latest date for production is still listed as April 21, 2008 through June 13 and I know we are all hoping that the WGA strike will not delay anything.  It is already upsetting that award season is going to be impacted by this–I’m very disappointed that our chances of Zac and Vanessa sightings in formal wear may be limited (we need to savor last night)!  I know I’m not alone in hoping that this gets settled soon! (sorry, a little OT).So, this is what I’ve found out and will certainly be glad to update as I find additional information.  Extras for HSM need to be over 18, a US citizen and have at least one year of formal dance training.   They will have some background/filler for those who live in Utah–all ages but mostly kids ages 7-11.  There is not yet a contact for any of this but Jeff Johnson did the casting for the two previous HSM movies.  Here is a link to his website:  www.utah.extras.com.
