While Zac’s movie Seventeen has Chandler (Matthew Perry), Vanessa’s Will just got Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). Variety is reporting that the former Friends star has joined the cast of Will. Maybe David Swimmer can join Ashley in Auckland for her movie? Ok, bad attempt there. But how many times have we compare the Wildcats with the cast of Friends? See?!! Anyway, this should be fun and I hope Vanessa will have a chance to learn from Lisa - not only a very funny actress but also one of the smartest comedianne (in my book).
The article also confirms Scott Porter’s participation in the movie too, which we reported just yesterday.
And how about this little tidbit - David Bowie is in talks to appear in the movie too (keep sending those letters Will )
This movie is looking better and better. Filming is set to start on the 9th of February.

For many Vanessa Hudgens’ fans, she is not only a beautiful talented young actress (with a cute boyfriend *not fair *not fair) - she is also one resilient young woman. I mean, we all remember what transpired last September, right? I thought so.
And the people of Askmen.com remembered as well. No, I’m not talking about the nude picture scandal; I’m talking about how she handled herself thoughout that embarrassing time of her life.
In September 2007, a collection of nude photos of Vanessa Hudgens surfaced online, sparking a major controversy. Both she and her publicist addressed the scandal, citing that the photos were taken in privacy and that it was a shame they were leaked to the public. Despite this, Disney indicated that they intended to continue working with the young star. With more eyes on her than ever before, Vanessa continued to carry herself with class and dignity, and has successfully bounced back from the scandal, as evidenced by her position at No. 61 on AskMen.com’s list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2008.
The people at TVGuide also commended her in her handling of the situation, when they ranked her at #4 in TVGuide’s Top 10 Teen Idols (with a certain Zac Efron at #2, dubbed as “The Biggest Break-out Heartthrob” - a bit of a surprise, no? )

Told you today was casting news day. We had Willand Upstairs, now we bring you Orson Welles. After a lot of speculation on our official message boards on who would join Zac in the film as one of the many girls his character, Richard Samuels, falls for, Claire Danes has been cast as leading lad, Sonja.
The article published at IOM Today says this:
IoM Film’s Hilary Dugdale added: ‘Zac Efron is currently rated the most high-profile actor in the industry, with Richard Linklater (School of Rock) directing and the supporting cast led by Claire Danes, this is actually a studio movie hitting the Island. This is big news for the British film industry, never mind the Manx!’
Now while I doubt that Zac is the “most high profile actor in the industry”, none can argue that he sure pulls in the audience. Zac will spend close to a month on the Isle of Man filming after A Bunch of Amateurs, another film starring Burt Reynolds wraps. That starts shooting this Saturday.
Also joining Zac and Claire on Orson Welles is newcomer Christian McKay & Ben Chaplin. The official press release for the film is here.

Even more casting news has graced us and even more coming (wink, wink). Kevin Nealon, most known for those Funniest Commercial of the Year specials on TBS and TNT has just been cast as Ashley’s daddy, Stuart Pearson. Gillian Vigman has already been cast as Nina Pearson, her mom.
They Came From Upstairs, filmed in Auckland, New Zealand (where Ashley will be heading to soon), revolves around a group of teens who team up to defend their Maine home from alien invasion.
Anyone else but me think it’s kind of silly to be filming a “Maine home” in Auckland? I know it’s probably really beautiful and everything - but this is Maine. It’s sooooooooo pretty there.

Reports are slowly coming out of Austin on Will, where band rehearsals have been underway since last week.
I won’t say what roles they play, since that could be a spoiler, but both Scott Porter of “Friday Night Lights” and Ryan Donowho of “The O.C.” have reportedly been cast in the movie with Liam, Vanessa and Aly. No confirmation from trade/industry sources, like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, yet though.
Austin-based actors and musicians have also joined the cast, including 2 local bands: Joker and The Daze.
If you need convincing whether Scott and Ryan could cut it, watch these:

If you haven’t already notice; Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas a.k.a. Jonas Brothers, are set to conquer the world.
And as if appearances, photos flastered all over teen magazines, and sold-out concerts weren’t enough, the boys are already taking over summer 2008, at least in Disney Channel. With 2 shows set to premiere, it looks like a lot of fangirls will be staying in this summer and tuning in to drool over their favorite Jonas. I’m already expecting a surge in sales for microwaveable popcorn, Lean Pockets, Red Bull and whatever supplies these girls are going to need for their sleepovers.

A massive fangirl hysteria caused by these boys from New Jersey, is just in it’s early stages. It got to be those tight pants.

We have new news! And I’m excited about it! It’s Brenda! And just like with the Will entries, we updated you on who, what, where, why and how - we’re doing it again! But with Brenda! As you can see Brenda news makes me happy.
As recently stated, Brenda is going to be starring side by side with Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy of FOX’s House) in a Lifetime Original Movie called Special Delivery. SD follows Maxine Carter, a Pacific Rim bonded courier Maxine Carter. She must transport uppity teen Alice (Song) from her father in China to her mother in Hawaii. Max soon discovers a trap has been set up for her client and must do everything she can to keep Alice safe.
Pre-production has already been going on for the television film for four weeks and beginning this Friday, Brenda and Lisa will be in Hawai’i to film until February 22nd. I know, before I said Wendy Wu 2 was still filming in Australia - that I will confirm with our dear friend since she left this tidbit of info from me too. But anyhow - it’s Hawai’i! And that is a definite plus for me. No passport required to go see her if I wanted. Who knows. LOL.
The entire film will be shot at about 16 locations on Oahu, including Kahala, Waikiki, Chinatown, North Shore, Turtle Bay Resort. Honolulu Airport, a nightclub, hospital, and several street scenes. The production company (appropriately named) – Special Delivery LLC – is based at the Hawaii Media Inc. in Halawa Valley. The movie is the first by the Island Film Group and some 90 percent of the crew is local. Producer Francis Conway describes Special Delivery as a Midnight Run-style action-comedy.
And like with Will, the production crew is still looking for extras! So if you’re in Hawai’i and in any of the former mentioned locations - go for it!
The entire cast is local with the exception of the two stars. Producers need about 18 background actors of all ages and ethnicities who will receive $75-$135 for eight hours work, plus any overtime. There will not be any weekend filming. A few scenes are supposed to be China so Asian actors are needed. The rest of the film takes place in Hawaii. What is especially needed are a 20-35 year old male and female “club goers”…

If you are a regular visitor, you know we don’t just blog because we got new pics or videos of our VABN stars. We blog because we want to share the VABN take on those latest pics and video. When it comes to Miley (or Hannah Montana) however, we usually don’t have much to say (I can’t really explain why).
It’s not because we don’t love her; we do (believe it or not). In fact, I probably have seen every single episode of the first season at least 5 times. Granted most of the time, it’s because it’s what my nieces wanted to watch. But no one forced me to actually sit down and watch it - I did because it’s actually enjoyable. But like I said, I didn’t really have much to say about Miley, Emily, Billy Ray, Jackson, or Mitchell (or Hannah).
Weird, huh? I mean sold-out concerts and ticket controversies and I don’t have anything much to say, besides the occasional “what are you wearing” post?
Well, I actually am enjoying just being a spectator in this phenomenon called Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus. I’m enjoying it so much, I might just take myself to a movie theater this weekend and watch “The Best of Both Worlds 3D Concert Movie”. I mean, just look at this!
But am I brave enough to fight 8-yr olds (and their parents) to get tickets? Are there even tickets left? Maybe I’ll wait until it gets to DVD in say, 2 months?
Btw - hope you are feeling better Miley! I’m still on the fence about you legally changing your name though; I like the name “Destiny”.

When you know you’ll go spend an extended time away from someone you love, you want to squeeze in as much time with that special someone as long as can. And Ashley and Jared did just that this past several days, including going to the SAG Awards, as documented by pics below.
This couple is getting up there in adorableness. I hope Jared will find some time off from his boyband “prep program” (I really don’t know what is up with his boyband/group, sorry) to visit Ashley in Auckland. Of course we here in VABN will be the first to squee when we see onset photos of these two.

So Boyfriend will be in NYC, London and the Isle of Man; while Girlfriend will be spending a good amount in Austin in the next several months.
The time apart will not hinder anything between the two. They will be okay; they’ve been here before (remember Hairspray and the HSM tour?). Of course, they always have &&Annie and &&Davey with them - and let’s not forget on-set visits are always a possibility.
But, what about the kuuipos, especially those who rely on new pictures to keep their sanity? How are they going to survive a long Zanessa drought?
