Luc and Mo take a dive down under!

Hola!

Just a little bit about myself before I jump into the goods. I’m Holden (don’t let the name fool you, I’m female), I’m a 19yo university student currently majoring in Psychology and Diversity&Disability, I’m obsessed with all things High School Musical, particularly V&Zac, and because Chay forced me to I’m the new Australian representative for VABN!

So obviously, if one of the Wildcats is in my neck of the woods, hopefully I’ll be able to see them and report back to you guys with the goss.

I saw Zac last September when he was here to promote Hairspray, and missed out on getting his autograph by an inch as he practically ran down the pink carpet. But more recently, and more to the point, I met Lucas and Monique when they were in Melbourne to promote HSM2 on DVD last month.

So I rocked up to the venue about 3hrs before they were meant to come, with two of my younger cousins and my younger sister in tow. At that point there were about 6 people in line, which personally, I wasn’t surprised by because 1) it was a school day, and lets be honest, High School Musical is meant to be for younger kids, so they were all still in school, and 2) the pair being there was really badly advertised.

Closer to their arrival we got in line and received a free HSM2 DVD poster, and killed time being quizzed by the Disney host who asked those there about our HSM2 knowledge for prizes. By the end of the day, we’d ended up with, collectively, 4 posters, 3 shirts, 2 hats, 3 packets of stickers and dog tags. Hey, don’t look at me like that! Honestly, who doesn’t love free stuff?

So the time has come for them to turn up, and I’m more than ready to be done with little kids running around my feet, and teenage girls saying things along the lines of ‘OMG, I hope Zac is here. He’s soooo hot,” which honestly made me feel bad for Luc and Mo especially since the signs all indicate that it’s only going to be them, and the Disney host claiming numerous times that they’re about to arrive. So finally, they come, and a little part of me is praising the heavens.

As they walk in Mo is surrounded by photographers and important looking people, and even from afar you can tell she looks gorgeous. She’s walking incredibly slowly, but given how high her heels were, I’m not blaming her. Lucas (along with Marc) sneakily avoid the crowds on their way to the makeshift stage, and it’s not until he’s there that I actually notice him, and boy did I ever notice him. Lucas and dark hair? Completely *thud* worthy.

They do a little intro before getting down the business. Even though we were fairly close to the start of the line, because the first couple of people took so long, they implemented a ‘No pictures and only one thing signed per person’ rule. And this is exactly where bringing along younger cousins and sisters who aren’t huge fans of HSM, and who are easily bribed comes in handy. ;) I ended up getting a HSM People Magazine signed as well as a HSM2 DVD poster signed as well.

Finally, it’s my turn, they’re sitting right across the table from me, barely a metre away, and instead of telling them everything I want to say, like telling Lucas how we wanted to get him a packet of guitar picks for Christmas, but couldn’t find any, or how great I thought he looked with darker hair, or telling Mo about how badly I wanted to see that Taylor/Gabi scene that got cut from the movie… Instead of telling them all of that, I completely froze. I think I barely managed to get out a meek hi and thanks for signing my stuff, and smiled a lot at them. I’d like to think that I froze up because of how utterly hot Lucas looked, and how gorgeous Mo was, and I was having an, ‘Wow they’re actually here, right in front of me, and they’re so so so pretty,” moment. You can’t really blame me can you? It’s not everyday that stars I actually like are in town and I have a chance to see them… Let’s totally disregard that that was probably more of a reason for me to actually talk to them…

Upon catching up with my sister who actually managed to hold a conversation and joke around with both Luc and Mo, I’ve decided that these two are genuinely as sweet, as nice, and as hilarious with their fans as they in front of the camera.

I’d link to more pictures, but to be honest, a lot of them look like the professional Getty etc ones because we stood behind them as they took all their pictures. Haha.

So my mission for the next time one of our Wildcats is in town? Actually be able to string together a sentence or two and talk to them.
