Hi everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well! Any big plans to ring in the new year? I hope so!
Anyway, just stopping by to introduce(and test) a couple of new features we have here in VABN. The one that will affect you the most, and we hope you try out one of these days - is the voice comment. That’s right - if you want, you can have us and the rest of the VABN family/readers hear what you have to say regarding our blog entries. Just press the “Record” button. Now it’s still very new so they might still be some bugs - but that’s half the fun, right?

So, just like Disney did with HSM2, Play Your Part has returned! And this time, you get to choose what the Cheetah Girls are bringing to India with them. Personally, I want Dorinda to bring CJ with her, but, obviously, that’s not going to happen. But, who knows, only you can choose.
They have the basic questions on there like what should each girl bring from NY to India and vice versa but the good part comes in the last last question: What Disney Channel Star’s Poster Should be in the Movie?
And there are three choices - The Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, and Zac Efron. I’m gonna take a wild guess for everyone here and guess that if you Play Your Part, you’ll vote for Zac. I mean, why not, right? Hello - Heartthrob Status!
Just click right HERE and Play Your Part! You know you want to see Zac in the movie too
Also, Disney just advertised the HSM2 Around the World Special. On January 18th, we’re going back to London! Check our Calendar for dets!

It shouldn’t really be a shocker that Ashley and Vanessa shop, get their hair done, grab coffee and eat out together. Afterall, they are friends - and those are normal activities friends do. They might have met in Hollywood but their friendship is not for show; it’s real. And any real fans of these two young and talented ladies should know this - that is of course the fan is worth to be called a fan at all.You see, there are “fans” out there that like to pit these two against each other, for some reason or another. That one is a better singer/dancer/actor than the other. Or that the other one is more stylish or has better hair or has better shoes. Name anything and it can be use to compare these two very different people/individuals. And then there’s the name calling - which for the most part are unwarranted because they come from individuals that do not even know either one of these people personally. What’s the reasoning behind the comparison, all the name calling? Is it really necessary? For whom? (Read more…)

I wonder if Kenny Ortega has a special title within the Disney organization. We all know him as the man behind the razzle and dazzle of the HSM movies. He is also behind the second Cheetah Girls movie and the soon to be filmed Cheetah Girls 3. So it’s not a surprise that Disney turned to Kenny to bring in some of his magic to the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus’s Best of Both Worlds concert - when it becomes a 3-D movie.
See Kenny show some moves in this behind-the-scenes from Disney’s Moviesurfers (oh yeah, you get to see Miley, Nick, Joe and Kevin too )

Okay, so, Disney’s Media department maybe need to take a course in child neurology. And now you’re all like why, right? Well, if anyone has been watching Disney Channel lately, then you understand. If you haven’t, there’s a good explanation. my excuse - there’s nothing else on and yes, that’s the truth.
So, first lesson in child neurology - even if you multiply Zac Efron’s image throughout the whole video that you’re playing, it’s not going to help anything. The Remix of Bet On It was just released and this media department decided it was a smart idea to clone Zac (not that anyone would be complaining normally) and mix it with bright, flashing lights and mix in some random images of a metropolis city. And I don’t know about any one else, but that’s just a little too much.
I was trying to find the actual video on YT to show everyone, but no luck there. Let’s just say that it’s not that impressive and my six year old niece could actually make the same thing. But, since I have my two years of medical school behind me - thank you brain for making me get out of it, I can tell you this - have a glass of water and the remote handy. Aspirin may also be used. Just change the channel for the duration of 1-2 minutes. It will be over before you know it. This, definitely, will prevent the seizure.
So, all in all, Dear Disney - fire your media guys and hire us. End of story.

Do I see raised hands? ok, maybe not Vanessa’s
Ok for the rest of you, here’s more info for yah.
It’s looking like we will hear what Vanessa’s sophomore will sound like, at least one of the songs anyway, come March when radio stations are said to be receiving the promo disc for the first single. So get ready to request it!
And remember what we mentioned in the last update about a possible single, “Whisper”? That single is describe as having a “rhythmic beat” and a “pretty sexy style”. There’s even a mention of Vanessa teasing a guy she likes in this song. *raises eyebrows
How about this title for a single, “It Feels Right”? Well, let’s add that to the list of possible single - it sounds like a good fit.
And we now have a tentative release schedule too - late May/early June, just in time for summer vacation.

AOL put out their list of the Top Twenty ‘Tween Stars. So, who’s on there that we should be proud of? Nearly, all of them…
20. Bindi Irwin 19. Raven
18. Selena Gomez
17. Brenda Song
16. Keke Palmer
15. Sabrina Byran 14. The Jonas Brothers
13. Emma Roberts 12. Ashley Tisdale
11. Corbin Bleu 10. Miranda Cosgrove
9. Drake Bell
8. Dylan Sprouse
7. Cole Sprouse
6. Jamie Lynn Spears
5. Alex Wolff
4. Nat Wolff 3. Vanessa Hudgens
2. Zac Efron
1. Miley Cyrus
I was expecting Miley, and Zac, and Vanessa, Corbin and Ashley. And why aren’t the twins or Alex & Nat Wolff considered one spot if the Jonas Brothers are? But, I love that Selena and Sabrina made the list but you want to know how much more estatic I am about #17 on this list? I LOVE BRENDA! I could be, just a little biased though.
So, what do you think? Are the spots are stars in the spots you would put them in? Or would you rearrange it?

Okay, so Disney really hit big on High School Musical, no? Like big, big. And not only did they cash in on the franchise with an ice show, stage tour, merchandise that’s pouring off the shelves, a Japanese kind of version, but MTV wants a part of it? Hell, why not?
MTV, not only known for bringing us the first music videos ever on television - we thank you ten fold - but also those addicting reality shows that you just can’t get enough of - The Hills, Laguna Beach, Real World, Making the Band, The Newlyweds - is now cashing in on the franchise as well. Seriously they are….and it’s starring not only Miss Taylor Townsend as the Sharpay-antagonist character, but also So You Think You Can Dance hottie, Neil Haskell. Shirtless scenes please!
But let’s get on to the good part, right? Right. So, we exchange the school for a mall, cast some Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron look-a-likes and cast them as the protagonist and a Gene Kelly-like janitor, throw in an actual Mrs. Montez who owns a music store, & Taylor Townsend as the girl who tries to take it all down, and I present to you: MTV’s Mall Musical! or, by MTV’s website, The American Mall.
Nina Dobrev, most known for her stint as Mia on Degrassi: The Next Generation, will play “Ally”, the Gabriella Montez-type role. Ally is the daughter of a music store owner, trying to save her mom’s store from going out of business.
Rob Hayes, hottie!, is not really well known, but damn, and this is between all you and me - tops Zac Efron ten times over! Have a look, I told ya, right?
And that’s not even the good part - MTV, I’m convinced, just wants to be Disney. Not only are they cloning High School Musical into Mall Musical, but they’re filming in Utah and they’re “borrowing” Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush for the production. Borden and Rosenbush are the producers of HSM. And just when you think I’m finished, I’m not.
The similarities between the two are uncanny. See, before Kenny Ortega, “God”, was a director he was a choreographer, right? Right. So, Borden and Rosenbush bring in Shawn Ku, who is what now? Yes! A Choreographer.
So what do we think? Will we watch it? I know, from my point of view, I liked Reeser’s character on the O.C., so I will tune in just for her. And who knows, it might surprise me.
