punishment?
If we were to take Jim Hill’s words, Disney had something to do with the cancellation of Vanessa’s Tonight Show scheduled appearance last week. And from the sound of it, Vanessa Hudgens will have to maintain a low-profile for the next 3 months - until the HSM2 DVD release - or risk not being able to play Gabriella for the 3rd installment of the widely popular/successful movie franchise. And by “low-profile”, they mean “no public appearances, no interviews”. The girl can’t even try to clear up the “situation” further or clean up her tarnished image.
So is this Mickey’s way of punishing her? Have her sit at home, and possibly watch her career go down the drain?
I mean, sure Hollywood loves a good comeback story. And if her management and PR are worth the money she’s paying them, she will bounce back from all these - even bigger and better. But who out there can give me that guarantee?
Played right, this Disney-imposed hiatus could very well work to her advantage. By the time the DVD comes out, Dancing with the Stars will just be finishing up. What better way, to bring her back to the limelight than having her perform the show’s “sound of the season” on its finale. And of course there’s all these talks from “industry experts” on how she can make this “issue” her stepping stone to superstardom. Let’s not forget she’ll have more time to devote on her sophomore album. And then of course there’s the personal time she’ll have to just “hang out and do nothing”, before someone goes off to shoot his next film. All fine and good.
But who’s to say that Disney will still hire her as Gabriella come March, even when she stays “clean”? Would Hollywood still be interested in her? Will her fans make sure that Disney and Hollywood will not forget how talented and valuable she is, during this time?
Personally, if I were in her shoes I’ll say “forget Disney”. But that’s me.

ETA: there’s been some ramblings around Disneyverse that everyone was told NOT TO COMMENT on Vanessa and/or the “scandal”. I guess the “memo” didn’t reach Miley & Billy Ray in time.
Makes you wonder what the suits over in Burbank are thinking, doesn’t it?

anonymous - first, thanks for visiting and voicing your opinion.
second - i hope someone in your family sat down with your little cousin and had a little talk with her. and I do mean real talk, as in covering both the good and bad of the situation.
third - the embarrasment, humiliation and disappointment Vanessa has caused herself, her family and friends are enough punishment. but that’s my opinion. I just happen to be one of those who thinks it’s a bit moronic to cause such an uproar over being naked, since we are all naked underneath our clothes. the clothes wearing thing is just a way to save us from looking at those who do not look good naked. but like I said - that’s me
I just think enough is enough, people have done far worse things and people are loving them. People are forgetting that these pictures were taken before HSM was even known of, she’s much younger in them, and granted I don’t know her, I only support her, but I doubt she would have taken them post HSM. That’s just my opinion though. We all make mistakes, we are only human after all. I think alot of people forget that. That underneath her Hollywood status, her amazing talent and hard work, she is but a human…and there are many humans in the world who have done far worse than pose for pics. I have seen the pics, there is only one where she is naked, and it’s not inappropriate in anyway, she’s just standing there, smiling that beautiful smile of hers, it’s not like she’s being suggestive in anyway. But again, these pics were post HSM so what does it have to do with anyone but her and for who those photos were meant. This is where the media suck…I mean look what they did to Princess Diana for goodness sake. I just think V has suffered more than enough. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and this is mine. As for all those people who reckon Zac will leave her and blah, maybe you should read that blog on here about why they’re a couple. He’s supporting her through this, and I know nothing about them, but what I do know, is that he knows she’s only human too, we all make mistakes, we just need to leave it now. I actually feel for her, whether she brought it on herself or not. I mean look at Britney, she’s done some pretty stupid things, some of them she brought on herself, but I still feel for her, and I feel for V, and I think that as well as support she just needs this subject dropped. If Disney are going to hold this against her, V will be the one laughing, because HSM won’t be the same without her, no one can replace her in it, no one, she’s Gabriella Montez, she made that part her own, and Disney will lose a lot of fans I feel. V will pick herself up and show the world what she’s made of. Sure it was pre-recorded but she shone on the Tyra Banks show, she was just so genuine and the girl we all love and support, and it’s the people who see that side of her who matter. We’re not fans of her because of her personal life, surely…surely we’re fans because she’s a beautiful, inspirational, stylish, funny, talented actress, singer and dancer. That’s the reason why I support her. I’m 24 and a massive fan, she’s an inspriation because she went for her dreams and she got them, because she comes across as someone so genuine, and whereas she has made mistakes, she inspires me because she’s only human and I can really see that in her, to me there’s nothing fake about her, she never puts anything on. That’s just me. Anyway, this is an essay so I’ll close now, but I just felt the need to vent about this. As I said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and this is simply mine.

People have done far, far worse things. She’s not even cmoparabvle to Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton as she hasn’t broken the law in such an offensive way as to drink drive, or arse around with drugs. She’s a sensible girl - it’s not morally wrong to pose for provocative photos for your boyfriend in any society; they were intimate and meant for noone else, she’s not setting a bad example. The 3 people worldwide who are annoyed about it are parents too, and they had to get jiggy at some point to have kids in the first place.
She’s being unecessarily villified by a few peopel and it’s not on as in my eyes she’s done literally nothing wrong. It’s the guy who leaked them that’s the bad one.
There won’t be HSM without her, as I doubt Zac’d do it if she was sacked anyway so they’re gonna have to keep her! Bully for them. Walt Disney was a RAVING COCAINE ADDICT how can they have an issue with a few photos. i mean really!

You really need to something soon about this situation it seems to be one thing after another and it really needs to be addressed with some kind Interview whether it is in print or on TV. Now that she is going through issues people seem to be coming out to try to make this issue worse than it needs to be. People like her EX Justin who seems to go onto myspace and spread vicious rumours about her need to be stopped. I do feel so sorry for her as people from her past and ex lawyers seem to target her when she is feeling down you need to do something too help this situation the longer you are quiet the more people will spread rumours .
