Ryan "Ducky" Evans for President!

I’m sure you are one of 17.2 million who tuned in to watch the hightly anticipated movie in Disney Channel’s history. Am I right? I know I’m right.Albeit having watched it earlier in the week, I tuned in, when it premiered too. Now the grown-up in me wasn’t really surprise of certain things such implausible scenarios(learning songs in least than 5 seconds?)and unexpectedly humorous scene - I’m betting you know exactly which scene I’m referring to there. The fangirl in me, however, most definitely enjoyed the whole movie.

Now, i don’t feel that it has the same magical pull as the first. But the songs and the dancing are already ingrained in my head. You are definitely not the only one humming You Are the Music in Me at this very moment.

You can tell the cast had a blast making the movie basing on their performances. Zac proved why he’s getting all the attention these days; Ashley is at her best as Sharpay (I did sense a bit of London Tipton channeling there); Lucas never fails to deliver a solid performance. Vanessa, Corbin and Monique were great too although I feel they were under utilize on this one. Kenny, well… Kenny is god; ’nuff said.

“Give me a beat”

As for the characters, although one can definitely see that this movie is Troy-centric, Sharpay stole a lot of the scenes. BUT RYAN PWNS! Stepping out of Sharpay’s shadow is the best thing he’s done, beside getting rid of the shimmery shirt. And a little league champ? who would have guessed? I like his new (close)friendship with Gabriella too; and it’s not exactly out of left field. Even in the first movie, I could feel that they could be good friends. Speaking of Gabriella, you go girl!. I knew you got in you; of course hanging out with Taylor probably rub off. BUT does anyone else wish there were more Gabriella and Taylor scenes? And don’t even get me started on Chad and Taylor. The whole golfing with the Evans scene could have been cut in half, or eliminated altogether, so we could get more Gabi/Taylor/Chad. Hopefully in the next movie?

Let’s cross our fingers, shall we?

*off to do some yoga before the movie comes on again
so Vanashbrenique!
