it’s all in the numbers…

Another proof Disney runs the world of showbusiness.

The numbers are out and as predicted, the soundtrack to High School Musical 2 debuted at No. 1, selling 615,000 copies. It is the second biggest 1st week sales for the year so far.

Anyone planning on a Billboard Music Awards trip already?

All but 1 of the 12 singles from the album charted in the Top 100, with You Are The Music in Me leading the way cracking Top 40 at #38 on it’s first week of release. The song is also labeled as “Hot Shot”. na na na na indeed!

Perhaps aided by the biggest night in Disney Channel’s history, Miley Cyrus’ album went up the chart this week to #2 at its 8th week. Jonas Brothers album from Hollywood Records is at #8 after peaking at #5 on its debut last week.

Singles from Jonas Brothers and Aly and AJ are also in the Top 100.

Incidentally, the soundtrack of Hairspray (which we all know features our main guy, Zac)went from #6 to #5 on it’s 6th week.

I think the $1 million (and then some) is well-deserved. Don’t you agree?

so Vanashbrenique!
