First thing, CONGRATULATIONS! to our girl Vanessa, for her very first magazine cover, the October issue of Teen Magazine. She looks gorgeous as usual, although it does appear that the picture went through a couple sessions in the good ‘ole Photoshop.

She still lives up to the title that Chay has given her - her Gorgeous-Ness. That Chay sure knows how to pick names, huh? Makes me wonder what she calls me behind my back.hmm…

Oh right, back to Vanessa.

So in this issue, Teen Magazine did some “investigation” to find out “All About Vanessa” - how her life has change after getting the role of Gabriella in High School Musical, two years ago. She briefly discussed life on the road, the perks of a celebrity, being a good role model (which frankly I’d like for her stop bringing up), the sudden onslaught of paparazzi and oh yeah, she “confessed” to dating Zac - as in Zac Efron, i.e. Rolling Stone cover boy,the hearthrob du jour, hottest thing on the planet besides global warming.

Yeah, the “confession” shocked me too - specially since I don’t see anywhere in that article an actual quote of her doing any confessing. Is this the confession?

I don’t think that’s a confession. Do you?

I don’t know if she really told Teen Magazine she’s dating Zac. But I do know the girl’s hate mail just increased by at least 10 boxful.

Sad, really.

But I have you know, these are the words of a V-fender, one who will use industrial-strength glue to make sure a certain ring will never be left on the bathroom sink again - someone who will show you how it feels if you cross Jason Bourne. Someone who will… oh right, little girls reading.

So let’s watch something pretty, shall we?

Wednesday, 29th August turned out to be quite a noisy day for HMV-passers by in Oxford Street, London. From the early hours of the morning, fans of High School Musical 2 flocked to try and get a blue wristband that would enable them to briefly meet five of the cast and get a HSM2 Soundtrack CD signed.We arrived at about 8 am, and waited for hours, hoping to catch a glimpse at someone arriving, but to no avail. We realised that there was a slim chance of us getting wristbands as we were fairly near the end of the queue, but we weren’t prepared to walk away.

Even when we, the unlucky group who missed out on wristbands, heard that there were none left, we kept our hopes up and stuck around.

Dear Tanika,

When you interviewed Boyfriend back in June, during the MTV Movie Awards, I saw a glimpse of this day. A day when I, the self-appointed chairperson of the Kuuipo Welcoming Committee, proclaim you an honorary kuuipo

When you got Boyfriend to exclaim, “I kinda gave it away” after you said “ooo that means they’re hanging out”, I said to myself - self, this girl is definitely a kuuipo, she’s not just working for Extra - she is out to prove that Zanessa is real. Of course you didn’t need to give us proof - but like a true kuuipo, you dig for the truth - so you can wave it to non-believers’ faces. You didn’t get the answer you wanted then - but that’s only because Boyfriend is well-trained (thanks to Jill and Crystal).

But did this stop you? Did People Magazine’s own declaration stop you? No way! That’s not what a kuuipo does.

So when the opportunity presented itself - a some-what joint interview with our favorite subject backstage at Sunday’s TCA, you went for it with gusto - you asked about the rings!

Now, you could have come to us for the answer. But asking them is good too. And although you didn’t get a definite response, you sure got a reaction. Good enough for us!

Dear Drew;

Well, you said it yourself, you “like to be first”, so here’s a first from us here at VABN - You are so VanAshBreNique!

Above, ladies and gents, you will find our first “brush” with fame. Drew Seeley was dubbed the “man of the hour” by Radio Disney @ Laurel Park Place today, but in fact, it turned out to be a couple of hours. I walked into the mall, not really sure what to expect. I had my camera ready, texting feature on my phone armed and a couple things in my hand - ready, willing and able - all for Drew. What I didn’t plan on was a literal East High replica built into the place.On top of kids - tweens and smaller ones alike - there were performances by everyone and their brother. A local high school performed their rendition of Breaking Free and We’re All in This Together. They were okay - not John Jeffrey Martin & Arielle Jacobs Stage good - but good, all the same. Then, the boring thing came. Learning the dances for What Time Is It? The girl, I personally know, and she’s cute and knows what she’s doing but the whole learning thing was not what the audience wanted. But after that they got really excited - but not for Drew yet. Drew comes later. But for the Double Dutch Jump Rope team - whose name escapes me. And they were good! Damn, they were good. Talk about upstaging Corbin Bleu.

Okay, now comes the good part -I thought I had really blown my eardrums at the concert last January, but they just might have been blown here instead. It’s different when it’s right up close and you’re standing next to possibly the loudest screamers in the bunch (High School girls, mind you). And note to self - for any future signings that you may go to - stick to the original line you stand in. Security will try and change it ten times but in the end, the original line you were first standing in will ultimately be the one that you need to be in.

I had my stuff ready and got in line right behind this little girl who was the cutest thing ever. I had to ask her a few things about HSM though. And she claims, honestly, that Drew is her favorite! And when I asked her about Zac, she carefully replied, “he’s got a crooked smile.” Bless her heart though - she went up to Drew and quite possibly gave him the biggest cheek kiss ever.

So finally - MY TURN! Let me at him! I let him have his very own red “So VanAshBreNique” bracelet and he snapped it on his wrist first thing. I could tell he really appreciated it. I also had him sign two things - the Special People Magazine and the sign you see above. I honestly, didn’t get a chance to explain him the reasoning behind it, but I left “calling cards” and told him he was the first. To which he replied, “I like being first.” I didn’t get a chance to photograph it with him for the blog, but still - he signed it! That thing will be going around with me everywhere and if I have a chance to have every Wildcat sign it, it will be.

Some of you know that the Headquarters of VanAshBreNique is housed in Detroit, MI and a lot of things happen here - the premiere of any AutoShow (hello - Motor City), Grand Prix (skinny river with fast hybrid boats) and lots of other things that my mind has slipped from telling you about. I don’t get excited over the Grand Prix or the Auto Shows, mostly because the auto shows are not that interesting and the last time I went to the Grand Prix, my father made us sit really close to the river and yea, let’s just say it’s like getting a front row seat at Sea World. But I do get excited over this - DREW SEELEY!

Drew Seeley posted in his myspace a while back that he would be coming to Detroit late in August, and it took a reminder from Chay for me to go - OMG! I have to play hookie! So here I am at 7 a.m. in the morning, not willing to go back to bed on the fear that I might fall back asleep and miss out on the meeting, and making a sign that says our penned catchphrase and holding a VABN Bracelet to the side just for Mr. Seeley. My camera battery is charged up and all I have to do is slip on my flip flops and drive half way across town to meet Mr. Hunky himself.

And, as always, if I had been reminded about this before yesterday at 7 p.m., I would’ve been posting like mad and asking you for interesting questions to ask him! So, until the next time, we have some standard questions that I’m going to try and squeeze in and I’m really hoping he’ll pose for a small video for VABN. I mean, Drew Seeley endorsing VABN? Can I say it? Can I say it? So VanAshBreNique! Wish me Luck!

Dear Mr. Alex Murillo,

It looks as though you missed the memo on keeping mum about Zanessa and Jashley. Before I move on, you do know what those words means - right? Good.

Moving on.

Okay, I understand that these reporters came to you. They came to ask you questions about Jared’s big step to superstardom. I can only imagine how exciting that must have felt - all those cameras and recorders shoved up your face. So exciting in fact that you forgot the #1 item on that memo sent to anyone remotely close to any of the wildcats - DO NOT TALK ABOUT ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS TO THE MEDIA.

Must we remind you sir, that the main reason for it - asides from the obvious, IT’S A PRIVATE MATTER - is because we don’t want the media to start tearing the relationship apart?

We already see the beginning of this with Zanessa; we certainly don’t want to see this happening to Jashley too. We love Ashley too much.

So please don’t do a “Joe Simpson”; you can, however, just smile and nod a little and maybe say “Yes I’m proud of my boy”.

Besides, if people think Jared is “free as a bird” we can link him to all these pretty girls in Hollyweird, er Hollywood - just like Zac - and sell loads of The Factory CDs and concert tickets.

Miley, Miley… We at VanAshBreNique love you! We really do. I mean why do you think we got excited when you finally kissed Jake Ryan? (ok, that was Hannah Montana, but you know what I mean). We think you got mad talent; you deserve all the success and recognition.

But must you break our hearts by showing up on national TV like some reject from the 80’s TV show, Dynasty? Now, you don’t have to tell me, vintage is chic - half of the clothes in my closet is vintage.

Is that dress even vintage? Is that even a dress?

Well, vintage or not, you should have left it in the trash.

Harsh? Hold on to the tomatoes and oranges; I’m not done.

Girl, you said it yourself - tha dress is uncomfortable AND too big! If you knew that, then why did you wear it? You knew you were going to be strutting your stuff on stage at the TCA with boyfriend Nick, and his cute brothers. Why did you have to wear something that you had to adjust to avoid any “wardrobe malfuntion”, and made Nick slightly embarassed to be standing next to you?

So you’re just 14. Now I’m not going to tell you, you should have dress your age. Because you are not the typical 14 year old! You’re Miley Cyrus, the superstar! But come on! There has to be loads of cute (and kinda sexy) outfits at your disposal that just screams “Yes look at me - I am a goddess! Now worhship me” not “Yes, this is my corner so unless you…” (you get my drift).

Okay, maybe you had some help picking that thing (see I can’t even call it a dress anymore). If the person who “helped” you is in your payroll, please fire her. I’ll help you pick your outfits gratis - yes for free! I’ll do that just for you!

I wish you could have at least called Vanessa Hudgens, who looked stunning (the usual lately) by the way. Or you could have called Ashley Tisdale in Montreal and ask for her advice. The Tizz gives great fashion advice too. You have so many options, it’s a shame you didn’t use any of them.

But I should be thankful though that you didn’t come as Hannah Montana, right?

Or even as “rocker chick” Miley?

First of all, congratulations to us for our 100th posting in less than 3 months. We are fierce, ya’ll! But most importantly, CONGRATULATIONS for having me as the new “contributor” - as in me, Crystal. Yes, the always fantabulous, almost charming at times - Ms Assembly Plant!

“When you get to sing with someone you care about, it’s magical.”

Zanessa graces yet another cover of a weekly magazine - this time the always trusted People Magazine. Very catchy title too “Their Real-Life Romance!” An exclamation point at the end no less!

So is this their joint confession/confirmation, “yes we love each other and we can’t live without the other” statement? Uhm, not exactly.

As it turns out the magazine got “HSM sources” coughDisneyPRcough to spill the “goods” on our favorite couple. They used quotes from previous interviews and even anecdotes we read in the HSM2 Special Edition of the magazine. And there are several incorrect information in there!

For example, when did Zanessa get matching silver rings? Last time I checked, Vanessa’s was yellow gold. Didn’t we go over this already?

And since it seems like they don’t have a fact checker on staff, they could have at least step out of their office unto Main Street USA and asked any random girl between the ages of 10 and 14 the name of Zac’s dad. And I bet you they would have learned that his name is “David” and not “Greg”. I mean, seriously.

BUT they are some great stuff in this article too. I specially like sexy sister’s quote,

“Two people fell in love”

and the very cute anecdotes: her bringing him food during a photoshoot and in turn getting a “thank you” kiss from him, and the snowball fight in Utah; the great quotes like the one we have at the beginning of this entry; and for some strange reason, I like this quote from the HSM source

“He’s at her whim”

Don’t ask why.

And of course, Zanessa pics are almost always great eye candy - even if we’ve all seen and squee over them before.
