And the red bracelet saga continues…

Tuesday, 17 Jul 2007

First off, Zac and Vanessa’s bracelets don’t match. His - is a string bracelet, might-be-a-hair-tie, that is ready to fall apart any minute. Don’t be surprise if he stops wearing it soon.Vanessa’s bracelet, on the other hand, is the subject of this entry. Now, let me just say that the reason she’s wearing it could very well be an LA trend thing - after all Nicole Richie has been spotted with the same one.

But Vanessa, could very well know the meaning behind the “hand” that dangles from it.

And more than likely, Zac knows the meaning/significance of it too. I would even venture out and say that he gave it to her.

Ready for a brief lesson on symbology?

Ok, maybe not that heavy - we’re not Robert Langdon here. heheheheh uhm.

Moving along…

A protective sign.

The hand that dangles from the bracelet is called hamsa(or Khamsa). In stylised form - it is a hand with three fingers raised, and sometimes with two thumbs arranged symmetrically. Derived from a semitic root that literally translate to “five”, a hamsa or hamesh hand is an amulet often use by Muslims and Jews as protection from envious or “evil eye” - or to provide a protective hand to the wearer.Often associated with a female entity, it also said to bring happiness, luck, good health and fortune to its wearer.

Ok, after reading that, what’s your take?

And briefly, the choice to pick out the Kuuipo (ZV) rings might have been thought of more carefully (by Zac) than first thought - in doing “research” for this piece, I came upon Jewish jewelry… some of them look mighty familiar… go Google it.

Your word of the day was brought to you by the letters “Z” & “V”.

so Vanashbrenique!

  2. We’ve read that too. in fact, we’ve read pretty much everything that’s been printed out about Zac/Zanessa this month. It’s been crazy! We don’t know which one to talk about here! LOL. The mainstream media has finally got hold of Zanessa and honestly I don’t know if I should be happy or scared. We’ll see what we can put together for from all the press.

    Thanks for the visit.
